8 - Chris (like him but hes deinitely not Joseph, too camp, wimpy and desperate)
7 - Craig (thought he did much better on Saturday but i just can't warm to him at all)
6 - Ben (i think the sing off performance will help to keep him in a bit longer but he just can't compare vocally)
5 - Rob (love him but hes just not Joseph by any stretch of the imagination)
4 - Keith (again i think hes great but no way is he a Joseph, his story will keep him in for a while)
3 - Lewis (didn't like him at all initially but hes coming over great, the teeny vote will keep him in)
2 - Daniel (Great talent, great voice has everything except the physique imo)
1 - Lee ( He has everything, the voice, the looks, the stage presence, the acting ability - and those eyes )

You obviously haven't met Daniel then. Daniel is being Daniel, what you see is no act, he is a genuine nice guy.
Your opinion is obviously based on what you see on the t.v but believe me you have the wrong take on it.
As to the disagreement with ALW, why shouldn't he say what he thinks? some people respect that you have your own opinion. Is that being cocky?

Let's be honest here, how many viewers have met Daniel, or for that matter any of the 'Josephs' personally? We're all forming opinions/judgements, from what we see and hear on the show.
For me, Daniel probably has got the best voice, but there's only one Joseph for me, and that's Lee

Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion, thats what forums are for. What i was doing was correcting a badly formed one.
I am entitled to defend someone who i and my family like aren't i?

I must be honest and say that I shall feel a bit short changed if either Lee or Daniel eventually win. Whilst I realise they both have great support, I would be happier to see one of the less experienced contestants being given the opportunity to appear on the West End stage.

Both Lee and Daniel are at what I consider the more professional end of the musical world. If either secure the part, then for me the whole series has been geared up to ensure that either choice is the end result that ALW and the judges really want as the outcome.

I can't say I agree with you. I would feel a bit short changed if we end up with a Joseph who can't handle the role. To be honest, they ALL have professional training/experience, even Rob, though we are talking about varying shades of grey here.

As for the final placings, the premature ousting of Seamus has ruined my hopes for a Daniel/Lee/Seamus top three and much as I hate to admit it, I think that Lewis and Keith are strong contenders.

So I'm thinking top two, Daniel/Lee (and I simply cannot choose between them, I love them both) and 3/4 Lewis/Keith. My biggest fear is that one of these teenyboppers will oust one of my boys for the final.

I don't really care about the other placings. Ben, Chris and Craig are seriously underwhelming me at the moment, and I do like Rob, but I don't think he's right for this part (cast him as Nathan Detroit!)

Sadly that's exactly what the producers want the viewers to do in order that they can end up with a lead actor as pliable and malliable as a large part of the audience.

Only if that person happens to be Lee apparently

I shouldn't say that. I do like him. He's definitely in the top 3 from the first week. It's just that reading through these threads I am just finding some of his supporters a bit immature and more than a bit hysterical in their support of Lee and their criticism of others.

Placings:

8 Craig

7 Ben

6 Chris

5 Rob

4 Keith

3 Lewis

2 Daniel (my personal favourite but I think the winner will be ..............)

1 Lee

The difference between Daniel and Lee in comparison to the other contestants is the level of professional experience. This is my concern.

I appreciate that the eventual 'Joseph' will be required to work at a very high pressure role. But surely the ethic of the show is to give an virtual unknown with ability the opportunity to shine.

Lee is used to West End work and Daniel also has varied Television and Theate acting experience. From that point of view it would mean that, should either win, they will have done so by virtue of their established background. This being so, ALW and Co might just as well gone for an ordinary audition scenario rather than by television audience voting.

As with all these shows, the final decision at the end of the programme is left in the hands of other than the audience anyway. It's an old chestnut that's trotted out with every show involving the voting public, but it's still true. Every week there has to be a definite loser with the least votes, but they always ensure a safety net to ensure that they get rid of the one of least use to them. This always annoys me.

4th - Lewis/Ben

3rd - Keith
2nd - Daniel

But i suspect they'll be a couple of shock voting results to upset me between now and the final!

I'd love to see Ben as third (all my favs get to third so there might be a chance) Saturday's sing off did it for me. I thought he was fantastic. i know not the best singer but if he can keep doing those performances he might make it. There was just something about it - not polished like Lee and Daniel but so from the heart

Still think that Daniel has the edge over Lee, Lewis and Ben are getting closer to the leading two, but they will never close the gap and more so with ALW

Daniel to be Joseph! - hie ticks all the boxes and one that Lee does not come near.

Although it's not the main point of the thread, can I just say that I agree with you completely on that one!

Regarding the professionals vs the amateurs debate, I don't care which we get provided they can handle the role and perhaps more importantly, that the show is honest about their backgrounds. Then we can decide if we want an amateur or professional. I was getting uncomfortable that Lee was cast as the professional with Daniel as the data entry clerk so was glad that the latter's experience was acknowledged last week.

Has Lee got a 'day job' like Daniel or is he a professional actor?

I think that Ben will surprise everyone and get to the final 3 or 4.

my order (for what it's worth)

8. Craig - seems like a nice guy but no spark and out of his depth
7. Chris B - unless he pulls himself together. Can't comment on his singing because I tune out when he is on.
6. Rob -
5. Lewis - bit too full of himself for my liking, don't like his legs/arm spread wide dance moves. Decent singer.
4. Keith/Ben - both have got the teeny vote and both have got a bit of fire in their belly which I quite like. Ben's vocal does need to substantially improve though.
3. Ben/Keith
2. Daniel - great singer, very popular but not Joseph (not Pharoah either in my eyes)
1. Lee - my winner

I am disappointed that JohnDeep left the show so early as I thought he had great potential. He put in a couple of good performances in Joseph school and in Luck be a Lady, but it wasn't to be.

There seems to be a large consensus of opinion that Daniel or Lee will be the winner of the part of Joseph.

Whilst I can see that looks and experience are part of the reason, I just don't think that either really fits into the 'rock 'n' roll' persona that ALW is supposedly looking for in this series.

No doubt they are both very versatile, but for me one of the younger contestants would fit the bill far better.

Either Daniel or Lee as the winner would be a rather staid and predictable choice as far as I'm concerned.

I love how the majority of people love daniel the most but think lee will win! that doesn't make sense considering it's a public vote!

i think ALW vision of a new joseph is a bit shit. Justin Timberlake crossed with early MJ? what the hell? I think he just named the only pop singers he could think of! That is not the joseph character at all.

I think he must be confident with either lee or daniel but at the same time must be really worried. the only other guys who had any potential have been eliminated! Chris C who was voted off first gave and incredible farewell performance! Jondeep just needed time to develop and i think he would have been a very interesting joseph.
