Just checked and there is INDEED such a thing a BAFTA Scotland.
Had no idea.
Just asked about and no one else did either.
learn something new every day.
You dont necessarily give a toss about it, but you learn it all the same.

Looking at the full list of awards, Doctor Who and Torchwood accounted for about half, including...

Best screenwriter: Russell T Davies

BAFTA Wales

I am going to personally write to Russell and ask him to engage you as his personal promoter.

Awarding anything to Torchwood pretty much devalues the whole awards system.

"And the award for the best Sci-Fi show set in Cardiff and starring John Barrowman is.... Torchwood. Take a bow"

fact is Rooks it won. i don't understand it either, especially when you have a series like LoM made by BBC Wales but the powers that be evidently see something we don't or are clearly mad.

Davies won it for Doomsday.
DOOMSDAY???
The episode that actually required pulling a big lever to make all the "baddies" just go away?
A SODDING LEVER????!?!
HOW is that good writing?
They do know that Deus Ex Machina is not actually supposed to be a GOOD thing right??
There were episodes of Dr Who written by others that were WAY better than Doomsday.
Or do you have to be welsh to get nominated?

"Best Episode of Dr Who written by a Welshman."

Maybe the barrage of Cardiff aerial shots won it for them

To be fair they do make the city look beautiful.
Especially in HD.

Torchwood is embarrassing to watch absolute rubbish.

Just shows you the appalling state of UK drama if shows like TW and EE are considered "the best"...
