I totally love Karen McDonald! She's gorgeous and amusing, unlike Fizz or Janice! Fizz and her rude "URRRRR..." noise she makes every 5 mins (no, not a burp.) Janice and her rasping 200 ciggies-a-day voice

Karen is a cut above the rest of em! Tracey is unbearable, so is Deirdre and Hayley.

So come on, support Karen and her gobby attitude!

I like Karen too (though maybe not LOVE).

Fantastic acting last night from both her and Steve.
Even though she has been behaving real badly lately, and leading Joe on, i can really say i felt sorry for her last night.

That Steve is a dirty liar and a cheat, although having said that, i don't want them to split up!!
They make a real good couple together!

I think Karen McDonald is fab too...

Although she comes across as a bit of a slapper she's never been truly unfaithful with Steve and she loves him despite him not trusting her...

I've always liked her character...very feisty!

I'm afraid 'Karen's' acting ability reminds me of your name - 'dreary'.

I thought Suranne Jones' acting was great, I mean what did you expect - Method acting like Meryl Streep? I thought she was very convincing and agree that Steve and Karen make a great couple. I think they have helped make Corrie even better than when Richard was killing people!

It's not hard to recognise class acting against those who've never acted before getting their start in a soap. Actors like Fred, Shelley's mum, Alec Gilroy, Richard, Maureen Lipman etc., have all years of experience and it shows.

Karen has a sucking lemons expression whether she's talking to Joe, Steve, or the factory girls ... and they say Eastenders is miserable?

I agree, but although she does not have years of experience at acting, I think she is far more watchable and exciting than some who have more experience. She breathes real life into the character.

Yea I agree, the people who play Karen and Steve are great actors.

A couple of months ago there was something like "It'll be alright on the night" on and they had a scene with Steve and Karen arguing (as usual !), Steve was so "into" his scene he ends up saying something like "what the f**k are you on about Karen", so funny.

Yes I agree, great acting from Suranne recently.

But did anyone notice, that when Karen was crying in the bus shelter and Janice came round, they just so happened to forgive and make-up ??
Not like they'd been sworn enemies for the past couple of weeks or something, no!!!

It's us female sex - we can forgive easily, i suppose!

I agree the actress is developing the character really well. I'd be the first to admit that I hated her originally as the gobby machinist but the tension between Karen/Steve/Joe has IMO been pretty good tv drama with just the occasional comedy moment within their relationship in the past.

I actually think the Street is rather good at the moment with its mix of "established" characters such as Rita (with comedy partner Norris), Curly (that storyline about Emma lying is set to run and run), Audrey, Gail, Fred etc and the some of the youngsters who are really quite good - I'm thinking of Todd and his brother, Sarah and David.

However I do have grave reservations about the Nelson family and hope that they get rumbled by those people from Sheffield (no offence Sheffield ) and have to move somewhere else. Brookside Close would be my suggestion

Apparently, he has an affair!

Yep, definately better than some of those wooden-tops in eastenders!

Yep, next week, but no, they don't move elsewhere!

Sunita in CONTINUOUS bad taste in men SHOCKER

And yes, Karen is fab, one of the best soap characters at the moment and a great actress. If she stays in it long enough, she'll go down in Corrie history as one of the great "soap queens" I think

Hmm...looks like I'm in a minority here then!

I hate Karen (the character not the actress). Whenever she is in a scene, 9 times out of 10 it turns into a shouting match, especially when she's with Steve. I usually turn the sound off when she is on because I know what is going to happen. It gets very waring to watch!

IMO she is the only character that spoils Corrie.

Ah, well thats one of the many reasons as to why I love Karen! Her rows keep me amused! I also like her 'sucking lemons' expression she puts on whilst talking to Joe or anyone else she doesn't like. (Yes, someone mentioned that earlier in this post)

I love Karen just as much as I love Suranne!

I think she must use bitter lemon toothpaste then.

Talking about people she doesn't like, is there anyone that she does like? I think she must have riled everyone in the street by now. Although she used to have a drink in the Rovers with her work mates, she was never really that close to any of them. Perhaps it has something to do with an unhappy childhood? Has there ever been any mention of her parents? I'm actually starting to feel sorry for her now.

Surely Lynda (Baldwin) must have been Karen's friend??

Yeah, I often wondered about her parents too.

Its true that she doesn't actually like anyone. Then again, why would she? They're all divs! (I'm talking about Fizz, Janice, Angela, Hayley, Eileen etc etc!)

Poor gal!

I agree. I really like the Nelsons though, I think they're great and I love the Sheffield accent (I'm a bit obsessive about accents!). I think their storyline is really good as they haven't done anything wrong, they've just been good citizens and yet their lives have to remain a secret. Hope they stay.
