I'm not up to speed on the MT songbook, but I do agree with Itslmo that TITM would be a good starting point. I wish I knew a bit more about the genre, but my knowledge extends to my Father going through his repertoire of 'Paint your Wagon' and Oklahoma' as we drove along the motorways on our family holidays.

From the show, I loved 'Suspicious Minds' - despite ALW's comments, 'Home' and 'Signed Sealed Delivered!' Yeah, Yeah! Yeah!!

Overall, I would like him to avoid anything too cheesy/boy band type of wringing a tear out of granny song. Its too easily forgettable. I'd like to hear a 'grown up' song showing his vocal range, but reflecting his personality.

Somthing quite current and memorable. Mmmm - I don't ask for much, do I? Its only the start, so I'm looking forward to seeing his recording catalogue evolve over the next few years.

thanks for the new links about Craig and as far as a songs to sing for a recording from ADWD, I would like to hear Suspicious Minds and December 1963, well really just about any of them.

I also remember reading that he sang Mustang Sally in Las Vegas...and would be interested to hear his version.

I know, not much in the MT arena but I would like an album that might combine the two genres..

and definately come visit us in Ben's new fansite....we have a place just for all of ya'll....

That was a great link, although the dates for Edinburgh are a bit suspect. The opening night is 11 December, which is why the 2 for the price of 1 offer is on that night. We will all be going later on as well, to see him again, once we are sure of the shows he will be doing, as he is only doing 10 out of 12 shows each week, as far as we know at the moment!

Poor wee scone will feel he is off to boarding school on Monday. Craig is going to have a blast playing Joseph and knows that nerves are a good thing, that's what gets the adrenalin pumping

Just popping in to say I saw the article about Craig on the website of Edinburgh Evening News. It's asbsolutely tremendous. Congratulations, your boy has done so well. I'm sending Craig wishings of luck for tomorrow - it's all starting for him !! I can feel the excitement! The cast will just love him. I'm sure of it. In Zoes words - he works like a doggg and he doesn't mess around - Well, the hippos would know different I bet lol - But when it comes to work, he's 100% committed and that alone will make him friends straight away. He'll keep going til he gets it spot on. A Directors dream.

Been thinking about the songs on ADWD that might make suitable material for a single and of course TITM comes to mind. But, for me, for the pop charts, it has to be The Long and Winding Road. So very apt too! He performed it so well considering the pressure he was under and his voice is well suited to laid back, dreamy tunes such as this. This kind of song would perhaps be the best type to ease Craig into the pop charts imo. But, and here's the sting Henry - its a bl@@dy Macca tune !! Fat chance of Craig getting permission to release it - unless the fantastic Mr Kenwright can pull a few strings ?? Guess I can but hope

Ideally, a brand new song written for him would be fantastic. By being Mobile Joseph he is going to have fans of all ages, so it's a difficult decision in deciding which genre he is going to be most successful in, chart-wise. He has a pop background with MT ambitions. We do know he has plans of releasing something and I very much hope that it's not all cover versions. Something new, all to himself, is what he really deserves and I do hope that he will get it. Ooh, maybe a few phone calls to Simon Cowell then eh? He was a fan a few years back and I bet he will not be surprised at Craigs popularity. And if Cowell smells money........... who knows!

3 months since you started his thread and Craig is on his way to London to begin his rehearsals.

I wonder what happened to so many of the posters from that first week. Dotty is about the only one to have stuck with it and hasn't it been worth it?

WOW, the day has come and Craig is finally on his way down to London to start rehearsals and meet his fellow cast members.

He must be SO excited, and nervous!

I'm sure they will all love him and he'll have a ball . As he said they will be his family for the next 6 months, but he'll know that all his family, friends and supporters are thinking of him and sending their love.

Go, Go, Go McJoseph, and enjoy every single minute of it. You deserve it!!!!!!

I always hoped this would happen for Craig and now it IS happening. I am glad I dedicated my time to such a deserving guy and I know he will repay us by being the best Mobile Joseph of recent years and by being on stage, singing and entertaining people for many years to come. It's where he belongs.

Great reading over the last few months fellow Craig supporters! (or few weeks in my case!) We may not be the largest thread, may not have multiple posts per minute or sit at the top of the lists every day, but the support it must have given Craig is immeasurable. I love the fact that we are an international bunch, and I don't mean within the UK!! We've got style, substance and an unshakable belief that Craig will burst onto the scene in a few weeks and give us a Mobile Jospeh to remember.

Big Cheers to Trixie for getting the thread started and being a champion for Craig. This thread has never stooped to taking a pop at other Josephs and its all the better for it. That's very much due to Trixie's lead and the desire to keep it an 'appreciation' thread.

Also big cheers to Henry for giving us a unique insight and commentary on the proceedings. We couldn't have coped through the rocky times without that knowledge. (and thanks to the other Hippos for more behind the scenes links!)

its been a pleasure and I hope Henry can pass this on to our Mobile Joseph.

To watch someone fulfill their potential and know that in a small way you helped to encourage them is so worthwhile.

Henry himself deserves a big pat on the back and I'm sure Craig and his family have thanked him for his brilliant championing of Craig
but what happens next ?
will we still get updates on how he is doing,

I can't wait till christmas and am now planning on taking the little macs to a matinee as well as going with friends another night.

Late joining as usual - but good luck wishes still being sent (on day two now!) Just had a look at the Cardiff theatre site and they seem very well prepared for a star in the making!
The local press usually get a story in to promote a new show so perhaps we will be able to follow progress there.
