Satellite John
30-04-2007
T-mobile have got some good offers from tomorrow:

Free weekend calls on all flext tariffs

Free evening calls on Flext 35 and above.

New contracts and renewals only.

But the £5 a month off Flext 35 is going.

I have had a very poor first impression of T-Mobile.

I wanted to try the web n walk service so I ordered one of the free SIM cards from their website. Went to register it, error message that system was unavailable. I thought, I'll try later and had the GPRS and MMS settings sent to my phone. Unfortunately the MMS settings overwrote the GPRS! SO i had to manually rename them and have the GPRS sent again.

Some time had passed so I tried the website, guess what the "system" was still unavailable.

I tried using the GPRS, god it was SLOWWW compared to O2 and Vodafone.

I've tried several times today to register, and have now given up. I emailed them (complaints form) and despite the site saying I would receive a personal reply shortly, I've just had an automated response saying there are an unusual number of emails and it will take five days to reply.

When I finish work, I'll phone customer service and have a moan. Why do they make it difficult to do anything? I feel as though I'll chuck the SIM away. Bad luck on my part or are T-Mobile a shambles?

Incidentally, have a look at the Sign-up demonstrations on the website, they are in a non-resizable window which is smaller than the presentation and have several mistakes. (Username instead of password etc)

According to the salesman I spoke to yesterday, you are limited to 10,000 minutes a month on the free evening and weekend calls.

Are those contracts available on 12 month term too? Might use that to get a better deal off o2 as it's time for my upgrade.

166 hours... that would take some doing!!!! an average of 5 hours ish, every day. You only have 5 hours to make the calls, mon-thursday, 7pm- midnight so still a good offer.

Flext 35 - how many texts and minutes does that work out to? Might try and use that against o2 to get something better off them.

£180 works out to 1800 texts I believe. Not sure about the minutes though.

Thats the standard fair use policy in place not just by T-Mobile but all networks, its the same for the w+w too.

£180 is 900 minutes, 1800 texts or a combination of both.

Just used the T-mobile calculator on the site. On a 12 month contract Flext 35 at £35 a month you can get about 1000 minutes + 150 texts + free evening, weekend and landline calls. Don't see how you can beat that really. Will see if o2 can remotely match that for me otherwise I'm gonna have to leave them.

Why not just go to Vodafone and get Stop the Clock whick you only use 3 minutes from your bundle from 7pm till 8am and all weekends.

T-Mobile customer service can be a bit on the downside!

You sure?

My experience of T-Mobile CS has always been bloody brillaint, admittedly there is sometimes a long wait, but I'd rather sacrifice my time speaking to someone in the UK than give up my sanity speaking to someone abroad.

I aint had any issues with em, just renewed one of my contracts, they have given me free line rental and a free phone. Can't get any better than that, I rarely have reason to phone T-mobile and when I do they usually sort out my issue. However battery problems with my N73 are starting to raise questions with the tech support department, but ringing a former colleague I am sure will sort this out.

I used to always use T-Mobile and even had a Flext Contract with them but i found the flext very expensive and my allowance seemed to drain away so i was spending £70+ a month.

Moved to Vodafone although my bills are about £50-£60 a month I find the signal very bad and the sound quality very bad compared to T-Mobile.

Has anyone with Vodafone noticed you sometimes get these weird fuzzy noises in the background on the phone?
