The lead single has been listed on the New Release Schedule for ages, no date though. The promo disc appears to have been sent out weeks ago too as Rav from the News of the World mentioned it in his column a couple of months back.
There's obviously been a delay in proceedings (I think talk was April as the original release date) so it's anyone's guess now. |

He's the support act for Girls Aloud on their summer outdoor concerts this year, along with Jamelia. So I reckon July/August for single and album.

I get the feeling that this delay could go on so long that an Album might not even happen.
He really hasn't sustained the public interest what with health problems etc., and every month that passes makes me wonder if his new offering is maybe not up to a good enough standard. Record companies are very precise about what they consider financially viable. No doubt his fans are pleased he's appearing with Girls Aloud, but his role as support act doesn't live up to him having done an arena tour of his own. It certainly makes me have doubts about his future. Similarly, and off topic, I will be very surprised if Journey South ever release another album. |

Didn't Simon Cowell make some comment about Shaynes material. early this year?I wonder if Syco didn't like the finished product and have sent it back to drawing board...so to speak.
Sept -s a busy time and Leonas album out - he may be overlooked. |

It is over a year since 1st album with no singles which is a long time to leave it for a new act - particularly from reality tv. MB |

I thought Journey South were dropped (along with Andy)?
The delay in Shayne's second album sounds all to familiar to Michelle McManus "forthcoming album" (which never happened). |

I've looked around a bit and Shayne was doing Q&A's on his website recently, also, his Myspace has a banner "New Single, New Album, Coming Soon" and was last logged in today. Haven is suggesting June for the release, which is probably linked to the Play.com date. Generally, it sounds as though he is still around.
However, things look rather bleaker for Journey South. Neither their Myspace nor their official site has been updated since November last year and the last news I heard of them was an interview in a paper where they said they were writing their own material. It seems possible that their attempts have not been good enough? They are still listed on RCA UK website though. |

I'm still interested in Shayne Ward. If he releases another album, then I'll buy it.

MB Well, according to Rav at the News of the World, he has one, that's of course if he sticks with the single already scheduled

He got carried away re: Eton Road. Groups last year were dire & Simon attitude to him caused him to retaliate & he said he would get them a deal. Reality is that they weren't ready & I'm not surprised that they haven't been signed. Irony of it all is that Avenue have apparently got a deal & are managed by global (aligned to Louis!!). However I think he needs some new material as in all honesty, I found his first album quite boring....there's too many ballad's and slow songs on there. He needs more songs like the ones he sang on X Factor that made him so popular. If Shayne had been promoted correctly he could have been huge by now, but he's just been allowed to have been forgotton about

If Ward releases a new album then everything I have said about reality t.v I will take back but except for Will Young, Girls Aloud and Liberty X to a point who is still here and now and releasing music and in public eye... Shayne did not stand a chance in my opinion
