To 1080p or not to 1080p

I've been looking at buying an LCD Sony Bravia W or X series. I was looking at the 40" models as they can handle Full HD (1080p).

But after a measure up in the living room the 40" would be to big so looks like a 32".

Now the 32" Bravia's are only HD ready not Full HD (1080p) will Full HD come to these screens in the future or is the screen too small to notice any real difference between 720p and 1080p?
