This is just a follow on post from my previous post, but I have been looking on the WWW and I have came across the Panasonic DMREX75EBS dvd recorder and in some pages it tells me its "region free" in others it says nothing at all, does anyone have one of these dvd recorders and can you tell me if its region free, many thanks sent.

AFAIK these players do come R2 and multi-region. I would check with the supplier to make sure the mod has been carried out.

I have a DMR E55EBS and bought it off the net. I noticed there was also a DMR E55 (without the EBS) and dropped an email to the supplier to ask what the difference was, they told me the EBS meant multi region, the recorder WAS advertised as multi region. I have had it for about 18 months and have never actually tried anything other than a region 2 in it though so cant tell you if its true!

The players are region 2 when they leave the factory.
The retailer can m/r them quite easily with a remote hack.
