Can someone enlighten me please? Paul found his baby on the doorstep. Did we find out who the mother was? Does he know? If so, did he try to contact her? What is the history between them? I think I must have missed an episode somewhere!

Her name is Amy. She left a note with the baby, signed 'Amy'. The night she left the baby on the doorstep, we saw her (but Paul didn't) sitting in a car outside the house. As far as I know, she was a one-night stand or, at least, not a serious girlfriend, and he hasn't tried to conact her. I sometimes miss bits too so, other FMs, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Now, please correct ME if I'M wrong, but i thought Eleanor was Precious's child (The girl involved with the gangsters that Paul got involed in , a while back) ???
I have assumed that the baby belonged to Precious because i missed the episode when they found her on the doorstep. However, i'm sure i read spoilers which mentioned her being the baby of Precious, and i recall nothing about a woman called Amy?
On another note, don't you just think that Paul is turning into the cutest father? Especially now he's beginning to get more attached to Eleanor??

I don't think this has anything to do with Precious (possibly the worst actress ever to appear in EE), unless this is a twist that is still to be revealed. We actually saw Amy crying in the car the night she left the baby. But, yes, I do agree with you about Paul. Who'd have thought it, eh? I suppose this means that, once Paul has become thoroughly attached to the baby, the mother (whether it's Amy or Precious) will at some point want her back.
You would have thought then that Paul would have made more of a fuss about contacting the mother, especially as at the start he wasn't too keen on looking after the baby! And wouldn't he want some kind of proof that she was his?

When I geard that Pual was to get an abandoned baby on his doorstep, I instantly though it would be Precious's too! The note said "Amy" at the bottom, and that woman driving around Albert Square in the red Fiesta left her there.When I saw the note, I though "Who on earth is Amy??"

When I first heard of the storyline I also thought it was going to be Precious' child.
Maybe he hasn't been in contact with her, as he doesn't know how to contact her!
And he's really likening to her isn't he. Kinda sweet really.

So it looks as thoug Paul could lose her. Which would be a shame as there could be alot of potential for stories.
And Im sure Paul will be very upset, but he could fight for custody, and he could stand a chance as Amy dumped her on his doorstep. That is of course if she really is Paul's daughter.

As in most cases of child custody battles, it's the mother that gets custody of the child, it would've been good for Eastenders to do a storyline where the father gets custody for a change!
And before you all say it, yes, i know there has been / is, a lot of similar storylines in EE, i know.
The Nat - Barry fight for Jack will be up soon, and previously Ian got custody of his three, but surely that was different since Cindy went to jail?

But it would a great storyline, as she is still a baby. Ian's kids were older when he got custody. And it would be grat to see Paul becoming a full time Father.

What I thought was even funnier was, that after Paul left nobody was seen smoking again.
