Well done Ben! For once I actually like you!

Hopefully the viewers will do the same! Kick Simon where it hurts!

Prepare for Ratings to Slump. Well excluding the First Auditions.

Now, only Sim and Sharon will be the only familier face to the show. Perhaps they should cut having a fourth judge and stick to it how it is. It'll feel fresh enough.

I liked Ben, I thought he did a good job on the Extra Factor. I hope Simon doesn't give the job to his simpering girlfriend Terri.

Good point lola, she was terrible on the first series when she co-presented alongside Ben.Her voice drove me up the wall (which I suppose isn't her fault, it just isn't ideal for a TV presenter), and her interview technique wasn;t much better, Sinitta would be better than Terri, but even using her would be somewhat incestuous coming from her ex Simon, wouldn't it?

Who bets it will be the typical Holly Willoughby, Stephen Mulhern or Michael Underwood? It always is.

Oh I loved Ben on the Xtra Factor. The programme was far more enjoyable because of him than any of the other awful extra shows eg I'm a Celeb, Dancing on Ice.. Please not Stephen... PLEASE.

Don't really like Ben but he is still a loss. This series is going to be a mess.

Like it or not, Ben made the Xtra Factor what it was and I thought he was great... I don't think I'll bother watching either X or Xtra Factor next Autumn... I'll be too busy following the Eton Road...

That's a shame, I feel like he made the programme a bit more bearable.

you'll all be watching in the autumn, don't try and kid yourself.

You won't even notice Ben being gone by the third episode.

I think it is easy to underestimate how good Ben was on this show. Lets face it these support shows don't get much of the 'cash' & are really quite poor in terms of production values. As you say look at other 'similar' shows & they are often so irritating that they are unwatchable - ie: I'm a Celeb. I suspect Simon is very unhappy to lose Ben as he always seemed very supportive & actually said on air last year how well he was doing referring to the viewing figures. His ability to 'handle' the judges when they were at times out of order was strong - keeping the show on track which can't have been easy. Also not afraid to put them on the spot. A harder act to follow than Kate in my view.

Well this is a shock. I thought the only reason Ben didn't get the main job was because he was still doing the Xtra Factor. He would have been great doing the actual X-Factor show I think and it's a shame he won't be doing Xtra Factor either.
