I think he will get on with it. He is a professional after all....and he seems very determined.

I am sure he will feel a little better at least by saturday. It's only wednesday after all - loads of time to get better (or am I being foolishly optimistic????)

I think he will perform, the only worry is the amount of rehersal time he will get....

Fingers crossed for the wee love.

**Got to go - just dashing around to the Joseph house with chicken soup and lots of bedside manner! **

Sleep, water, vitamins and bowls of Olbas work wonders. Assuming it's nothing terribly serious - and it doesn't mention grotty anti-bios in that article - he might well be able to suck it up and deal with it. I vaguely remember Connie feeling ill last year half way through the series as well.

Oh, here we go

This is reminiscent of Leona's cold during one week of X Factor (complete with badly acted cough).

Let the sympathy votes commence

Didn't realize you were a doctor and had examined Lee yourself.

I suppose that was a cosmetic cold sore he put on his lip two weeks ago ('cause that look is SO attractive), and that he tricked Zoe into thinking he was sick last week. After all, she's only a highly-respected vocal coach and wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

The boy is sick you mean spirited wotsit!!!!!

Have a little heart.

Speaking of the cold sore - I was watching out last saturday to see if the blonde dancer he kissed at the end of Bad Day ended up with one.

She seems to have escaped. Clearly she thought it was worth the risk. Or maybe I was looking at the wrong girl completely and the original blonde dancer couldn't perform last week as her face was hideously deformed by Lee-induced cold sores...........eek!

Anyway I hope he is tucked up in bed resting and fingers crossed he is fighting fit for Saturday....afterall there is no show without punch........

Given the timing and the fact that they're all in one house together it seems likely Lee caught if off Chris - what if more of them get it? If Daniel, Lewis and Rob came down too that'd truly stuff the show.

I reckon they should give Lee a bye and get him out of the Joseph house until Sunday to be sure it doesn't spread any further.

He will be fine i'm sure, if under rehearsed, but his popularity will get him trhough safely.

Absolutely agree with you 100%. I am sure it has already been decided that Lee will play Joseph and all these other Josephs are just stage dressing to make a television show.

It was so obvious last time that Connie Fisher was going to play Maria.

All this about him being sick is just to make the viewing public think what a fantastic performer he is for is getting out of his sick bed to perform live on the tv on Saturday night. What a trooper

ALW reputation is one the line - he is not going to take a risk and let a novice perform live in one of his musical productions on the London stage and them not being able to hack it.

I am not fooled for one minute by all this sickness nonsense.

Isn't is amazing how some people become doctors all of a sudden and even ones that can diagnose from a distance! That's quite a feat, Glinny.

Lee wasn't 100% last week and he wasn't the only one. If it is virus, they could all go down with it.

I hope Lee is fit enough to perform on Saturday, it will be a travesty if he has go.

I'll be voting for him if he is able to give any sort of performance.

I was wondering when this would come up, and i agree with you. Can't imagine Ben, Craig or keith coping with the pressure of 8 shows a week, it would just be too much. But saying that apart from ALW who's really going to care if it flops? I believe the only serious contender is Daniel and i personally hope he wins.

Heres the full article:

Could Lee's illness jeopardise his place in the contest?

Lee missed training yesterday as he had to go and see the doctor.

"I have a virus," he explained. "I keep coughing and have been sick. I don't feel good. I'm worried. I want it cleared up for Saturday. I've just got to rest. Its been a hard six weeks with long hours - I'm just knackered."

The doctor advised Lee to go home and rest his throat. The doctor also noted that he was feeling the pressure, "I think he's stressed. He misses his family."

Back at the Joseph House, Lee gargled with salt water, took some effervescent vitamins and inhaled steam with a towel over his head - he's willing to try anything to make sure he's fit for Saturday.

"I can't imagine missing Saturday night, I'd be gutted."

"I can't imagine what it'd be like to walk from the competition if I'm not well enough. I'm determined. I don't want to think about that. It's too upsetting."

But surely he's used to long hours and hard work already? He is, after all, used to treading the boards in the West End.

I don't really see what that has to do with it, the man is ill.
