LG Shine or Samsung U600?
Dakota.
02-05-2007
I'm useless at buying phones - hence why after buying the Moto Pebl last november (Most basic phone ever for the £100 I forked out) I'm reading lots of reviews this time round.

Narrowed it down to either the LG Shine or the Samsung U600. Is it worth waiting for the U600? Or does anyone own the Shine and can say its worth it?

I can sum the shine up in one word............

SHITE!

Don't get it, I work with that handset and it is bloody useless, LG has a bad rep for the build of phones, stems all the way back from their first 3G handsets to their modern day fashion models. It has not features on it hardly and is merely there for cosmetic reasons, like the soddin prada it aint owt special.

The U600 is already out on contract, most if not all networks have it, it's a good slimline phone, 3.2 MPX camera so it's decent enough, that said I aint keen on a Samsung, but I would suggest that one over the shine any day of the week.

Wait a bit the K810i is due to be released to all networks shortly!

no opinion on any LG phones as i've never been unfortunate enough to have used one
but the U600... just doesn't feel right in your hand at all IMO
the camera will take some getting used to if your used to it being a vertical shot
i couldn't stand to find out if there was a way to change the orientation
but i found it slower at taking hi-res pictures than the D600 (2 seconds at least with the auto focus)
and also in my brief time playing with one couldn't find a way to turn off the slide tone

my opinion would be to try something different, i didn't find it an enjoyable phone to use at all
