Adam to win... (merged)

As i've said on one of the other threads, Adam has been consistently singled out by at least one or two of the other contestants over the last few weeks and treated VERY unfairly.

After tonight's last scene where Katie was steering the other candidates to her nasty, way of thinking (even Simon, who despite his arrogance I still liked, dropped to scum level with his impression) I really want Adam to win. He may not be a flyer in any particular area, but he knows when the others are talking sh*te and is constantly undermined by them when giving his opinion.

He hasn't deserved to be in the boardroom at all these last weeks and is taking the (obviously overheard) bullying of him in such a confident way and not rising to it.

Adam to win... seriously.

Is anybody supporting the underdog? He clearly isn't popular with his fellow contestants, and he practically has his own seat in the boardroom. Could this perception and unpopularity work in his favour?

Oh yes...I'm rooting for an Adam vs Tre final!

I’m sorry, but in my opinion he has no spark or drive. True, he has been good the last couple of weeks, in terms of a consistent sales based approach. But if you after someone to inspire and lead people, is Adam REALLY your man!

I've noticed at least on the last two occasions he hasn't deserved to be in the boardroom and I agree with you that he is being ganged up on.

As the definite underdog, I wouldn't mind him at least getting to the final...certainly over at least four or five others that are still there.

My main favourite is Jadine, followed by Kristina and then Adam. He could well be a surprise contender.

I can see where the OP is coming from, but I think it's rather wishful thinking. Of all of the contestants tonight I would prefer Christine on my side because she can spot idiocy a mile off, it would seem. I don't think she is always right, but she has the guts to speak up without making a huge fight the way that Tre and Jadine so. I like her style. She may come over as a "snake in the grass" to those of a lesser intellect simply because they do have a lesser intellect and cannot see clearly the things that she sees.

I think Adam is a decent bloke, a good and willing worker, but he's no high flyer. He has honesty and decency on his side, but he is not a winner. Being a scapegoat (which seems to be what he is best at) will not make him a winner.

I hope Adam does well, he doesn't deserve the treatment he's getting from most of the others.

Completely agree... I suppose i'm letting my hormones influence me, but I just don't like the singling out for no other reason than they can... It's wrong, and for that he deserves to go further than them.

I don't think Adam is a contender (but I haven't scrutinised all of the episodes), but I think the treatment he is getting from the others is appalling.

It must me so hard for Nick on this "You're Fired" programme. He must know if Adam is one of the final two and must be biting his tongue.

I agree with you Andyscouser, I want Adam to do well.

I think it's unlikely that he'll win because he seems to be so unpopular with the rest of them and part of the job is to be able to get on with the rest of the team. However, we don't know how much of his unpopularity with the team has been caused by Katie and her underhand mutterings. I quite like Adam now, at least he seems to be someone that you could trust.

Yes it's wrong, but he will go soon if for no other reason than he will appear once too oftenin the boardroom. It's nasty, but it is the way of things. He has to assert himself next week and I hope Sir A will make him project manager because it's his only hope now. He has to assert himself and to prove that he can act independantly. As things stand he is a "whipping boy" and that is not fair but also it is natural. It may be nasty, but pecking orders exist in human society just as much as they do in chick coops...

Adam is obviously the scapegoat. If it were Big Brother, he's be the housemate who is nominated every week but saved by the public. I think he'll make the final four.

If it were Big Brother, Adam would be the easy target, the one who is nominated every week by the house-mates but not voted out by the public. I think he has been made a scapegoat but that he could well make the final four. The programme is called THE APPRENTICE, so SAS is looking for someone to groom, not someone who has entrenched attitudes, ideas far above their station or believes they have nothing to learn.

Very good point. SA isn't stupid, he knows very well that Adam is being singled out by the likes of Katie and some others. Hence why he's saved him each week. He also gives him valid advice which to me, Adam seems to be trying to take on board. He makes no more or less mistakes than any of the others, but like you've stated, he's the easy option to drag into the boardroom each week so that they don't lose face with their pals (the ones that they should be taking in with them and who have really messed up on the occasion). I'm sure SA sees all of this and will be looking out for the exceptional person who shows real integrity and honesty about both themselves and their team.

Two weeks in a row now and we haven't seen any of the team leaders with these qualities, hence why they were probably fired. I'd like to see Adam being given team leadership next week to see if he has these qualities. I suspect he will surprise a few people.

Agree with every word pammi, but I want Adam to at least make it to the final four, if only because of the way he handled the hostile (and hilarious) reaction of the rest of the group! Still PMSL at Simon's face after his impression of Adam Have to say I haven't been a fan this series, but that was the funniest episode ever!

I would like to see him doing well and getting to the final. I think he's been given a crappy ride so far and some of the reasons given for getting him into the boardroom when others should be there instead, are downright ridiculous.

SA must know that some kind of vendetta is being set against him and is saving him without trying to make it blatantly obvious that he knows he's being set up. I think his parting shot to Katie getting off the hook yet again tonight was Ace. She must know that her cards are marked, but it will be interesting to see how she schemes to get off the hook yet again next week.

Adam was ok in the first week and it was only in the second week when that poisonous b!tch took against him did they all start to get in on the act. He seems to me to be level headed and sensible with no inflated ideas about his own importance.

I would love to see him win it but I don't think SAS in to taken with him. He is dying to get a go at Katie and this might keep Adam in a bit longer.

A lot of work goes into the editing on a show like this so I wonder if the way Adam is being presented as put upon and derided is to build him up as an audience hero.

Last week the three poshest contestants Simon Paul and Katie were all quoted in quick succession being quite bitchy about him, Katie clearly thinks of him as some pointless northern oik who shouldn't be allowed to live let alone ruin her experience of the apprentice, and the silent reaction of all the candidates when he returned was without precedent, certainly in the uk apprentice.

You could very well be right about the editing. It's like every other RTV show, they can make just about any of the characters look as good or as bad as they want. However, some emergency tactics will need to be in order to make Katie look good after these last couple of episodes

Re the silent reaction of the others when Adam returned..was unbelievably bad sportsmanship. It said more about them than it did about Adam IMO. I was disappointed with some of my other faves that none of them shook his hand and welcomed him back. It costs nothing to have good manners, and frankly I was disappointed in all of them, not least the ones who dislike him.
