I haven't watched this show before this year and I must say I'm really enjoying it. I am suprised at the intellectual capacity of some of the contestants though. These people allegedly all have good jobs already don't they? I cannot always see how. Paul just highlights this for me ...

I cannot believe that Paul could be so stupid in his product choice. I'm not that cosmopolitan, and certainly not travelled like Paul must be after being in the army, but even I would have more sense than to try and peddle cheap tat food in France! I would probably have risked a little Caerphilly and a little Stilton though... but those bricks of cheddar - has Paul ever actually been out of Britain???

And blaming everyone escept himself - the mark or a true twit, and I believe it's what got Andy fired in the first week too. I am sure Sir A would be looking for people who can take ownership of problems instead of passing the buck.

Paul must be extremely low ability. His background would have provided him with a better education than most people I would think, yet he still thought breezeblocks of tacky looking cheddar would appeal to the French. Is Paul the thickest ever contestant on this show? It's the first time I've watched it, so I've no yardstick for this.

As soon as he brought out those cans of beans and started turning them into cooking utensils, I knew it was all downhill from there.

He was amazingly incapable of seeing his own shortcomings and kept trying to justify his mistakes, even after having watched the programme back. Adam and Tre are beginning to look better and better as the series progresses.

I agree with you about Adam and Tre. I haven't paid too much attention to Kristina up until tonight, but she impressed me taking Paul to task. She's my favourite out of the female contenders so far.

Paul is the dumbest and the poshest by far! Couldn't stand him, glad to see him gone.

Me three, Adam has had a hard time but he has always been good, asked sensible questions every week, sell anything, the lion suit was his biggest error, for a short time in one task. Was he Team Leader for the sweets task?

Tre is getting more likeable. Kristina is easily the best of the women, Naomi is almost invisible.

Re OP, Paul was shown up to be a blimp, all hot air very little substance. Talked total rubbish on YF, no humour.

Tpyical baby Roddy. Taking about his times in the Army. He problably did less than 3 years and as with most junior officers, their useless without an SNCO holding their hands and making the chioces for them. Glad he's gone!!!

Do you think? I saw it completely differently. I reckon he has quite a dry sense of humour and was actually being self-deprecating on YF.

I've watched every episode of each series and can confirm that, arguably, Paul is the most ridiculous and deluded team leader ever. He probably even beats that woman in the first series who thought semaphore cards would be a must-have kids toy (she almost systematically ensured her own destruction at every possible juncture. It was a marvel to behold.)

Donald Trump said something really interesting in one series of The Apprentice USA, and that was as a boss you need to listen to all the people around you. You don't necessarily need to do what they suggest, but you need to listen, otherwise how can you make an informed decision? Army Boy made the classic bad manager mistake of thinking that stomping around like the big I-am and doing his own thing is how to lead a team. Unfortunately for him, being a strong leader and being a complete bell-end are NOT one and the same!

I can't recall if he was the team leader for the sweets task as I only saw highlights of that episode. Was that the first time he was dragged into the boardroom? As I understand from tonight's episode that it's now three times he's been in.

I would have been far more impressed by her if she had come up with some suggestions to improve the situation rather than causing arguments and being confrontational. It's all very well identifying there is a problem or an error has been made, but it is much more difficult to identify a solution.

I was also surprised how Paul lied about how much had been allocated for the banner. On the phone to Adam he said around £100, switched off the phone and then said to the others in the car £50-80. Adam brought the banner in at £100 the exact amount he was told to spend.

That's right, he was team leader for the sweets task and according to next weeks Radio Times (helpfully on sale yesterday and thus ruining part of tonight's boardroom showdown) Surallan takes him up his offer and makes him team leader for the next task.

I missed the dry wit, but Adam has some good lines in understated humour. He talked over Nick, who has made some killer observations in each series, so I missed one.

The rolling tiny eyes and smug gormless shifty expression must do something to my hearing, it maybe the cloud of steam escaping.

Adam was team leader for the sweets task. Re Paul, he was terrible. Can you imagine him leading troops into battle? "Right chaps, forget the guns, were going to charge them with these baked bean tins!" Personally, i think he was distracted by using too much jelly with Katie

I missed that bit, I wonder why Adam didn't defend himself on that point, especially as Evil Horseface brazenly claimed in the boardroom he had spent £150 on the banner.

yes, I think he was team leader for the sweets task. I don't particularly like him, but it seems to me that the others are always ganging up on him now, to save their own skin.

He and Andy were the only northerners in it, and I remember the others whispering behind their backs and sidelining them - some presenter commented that it may be because they were both northern.

(I'm Scottish BTW, so don't have any axe to grind either way but I do think they are picking on Adam for practically nothing now.)

Sorry m8. Kristina was the only one to use her inititive and get the sausages cooked. If that doesn't count as a suggestion I don't know what does. I don't really like the woman, but she's clearly the most pro-active of all the group.

Do I sense a conspiracy? Katie (the idea) and Paul were out to stitch Adam up.

Kristina did come up with alternatives, early on, when the cheese stayed on the list, she said not cheddar IIRC. I do not think Paul came up with chutney and marmalade as good products.

I didn't notice that part - but I think the right person got fired all the same.

To be fair, I thought Kristina did actually try to talk Paul out of buying cheese from Macro and did mention her concerns. I guess it's down to editing as well, as we've no idea if she said any more than she did about it than was shown on the show. Saying that, she did stress that Katie and Paul were the main ones making all the decisions and the others were not listened to. So we can only assume that she objected on more than one occasion.

Good point about the money allocated for the banner. I just wish now that you mention it, that Adam argued the point more in his favour. As I'm sure it would have been noted if SA were to look back at the highlights of the show and seen Paul was blatantly lying to the others.
