Mine, in no particular order:

1) Phil Collins

Physics teacher at my school.

To date, he had the best voice that I've ever heard live... and he could play guitar a bit too.

I want his voice *jealous*

Apart from JT. Who is a great pop artist, but not exactly brilliant to the levels of those guys above... I could hug you... What a great line up of brilliant artists.

I know JT is a passing fad but the others have been my favourite singers for many years. There are others I could name but the list would go on forever.

I'm be happy to take the hugs though

He's loved Weller since he was at school and must have seen him everytime he tours. He even went to see The Jam when he was 16!!!.

Wish I'd never have asked though cos I've just had a 20 minute monologue about what Weller has meant to him over the years.

Btw, has anyone seen the Ribena advert with 'You're The Best Thing'as the music?

Who are you, Patrick Bateman?

On the strength of live performances:

1. Morrissey; It was how I imagined all concerts to be, the crowd went wild and undulated in unison, the stage was stormed and Morrissey looked like a giant lording it over all. Basicaly like all the cool music video concerts you've ever seen.

2. Billy Bragg; He engages the crowd like no other performer I've ever seen.

3. Julian Cope; Like Billy but more abstract.

I have very little solo artist stuff in my record collection, seems I much prefer groups, so I chose these on the basis that when I first saw them in concert I felt a like a part of something rather than just a spectator which happens to often in my opinion.

(1) Madonna.......Nuff said
(2) Kylie..............I just love her
(3) Justin something Lake.................Never thought much of him when he was in that boy band, but he is actaully quite a good artist!

All the above are pop and manufactured, although Madonna's manufactured her own image more than any record company could. That's not to say they are bad, I like a couple of Madonna and Kylie tracks.

My top 3 at the moment are:

Justin Timberlake - of course (what an album!)
R. Kelly
50 Cent

I knew Justin was gonna be big about 10 months ago when Pharrell from the Neptunes said that the stuff he did with Justin was some of the best stuff he'd ever done. And that has to be good!

No,Im serious These are my fav contempary solo artists.

not of all time, obviously!.

I dont mind manufactured if I like the sound. Most artists these days are manufactured to one degree or another anyway.

I like the direction Girls Aloud have taken for eg. rather than the predictable R&b route, theyve gone for a rockier sound, which I like. anyway Im a sucker for Duane Eddie guitar riffs!.
