Change setup to HD. Will this work?
Hi all. Hope someone can help me!
I currently have a Denon AVR3805 amp (non-HD), Sony RDRHXD860S DVD recorder (HDMI) & non-HD Panasonic Viera TH42PE30B. The sound for the amp comes from the DVD recorder via digital-out and the TV picture comes from the Sky box into the amp where it's upscaled to component into the TV . Right, I'm thinking of getting Sky HD and a new Sony Bravia TV. 1) Can I keep the amp and just use it to output the sound from the Sky HD box whilst... 2) Feeding the Bravia TV the picture directly from DVD recorder which in turn is supplied by the Sky HD box? I spent a lot of money on the amp and speaker setup and I don't really want to have to buy a new amp if there's nothing wrong with it (apart from being non-HD, of course!) Any suggestions welcome and thanks for reading! |

Not sure but I think the Bravias have 2x HDMI.
You would then be able to connect Sky HD and DVD via HDMI, run an optical from Sky to the Denon for the audio including DD5.1 and leave the DVD as is. |
