Nigella is a traditional cottage garden flower, also known as 'Love-in-a-mist'.

In the previews I have seen (on BBC website), Tre clearly knows what nigella is - it is also known as onion seed or kalonji and is used in Indian cookery (Balti should know
). The other preview shows Adam & Ghazal. I am surprised that Ghazal doesn't know what it is. It is not an obscure ingredient at all, it's the little black seeds you see on spiced naan breads.

(It does answer a query I've had for a while though - I thought most people on here had ESP!)

Nigella is a type of flower, but it is also a seed commonly used in Asian cookery and generally known there as kalonji or onion seed. (Not sure of the difference between cooking Nigella and gardening Nigella). Anyway, for the purposes of the Apprentice task, I believe it is the Asian spice that they are being asked to source.
Nigella is also a domestic godess of course , although whether she is available below cost price is up for debate....

Never mind, jazz-joe. I for one enjoy your ever-changing predictions, and you add to the gaiety of the nation, even if it is not clear where you are coming from!
