Jason Donovan 2007 UK tour

Has anyone been?

I went to the show at Ipswich Regent on Friday, it was sold out!

I don't mind admitting I'm a 32 year old bloke and I loved it. He opened with RSVP then went into one of my favourites Nothing Can Divide Us. He did all the old classics like Everyday, Sealed With A Kiss, Happy Together, Another Night, Especially For You, Any Dream Will Do and ended with Too Many Broken Hearts.

He also performed a few brand new tracks which can be found on his MySpace page: http://www.myspace.com/jasondonovanofficial
He mentioned this page a couple of times so it's definitely his.

One quite emotional part of the show was when he dedicated Talking To Myself to his young nephew who died in a car crash back in 2005. While he was singing there were pictures of Jason with his kids in the background.

I know some people might take the piss but like I said it was a really good night.

As long as you enjoyed it that's all that matters

I was 15 back in 1990 when Kylie & Jason were massive, I know all that Stock, Aitken & Waterman stuff was as cheesey as hell but I still love it even today.

I love Jason. His 10 Good Reasons album was one of the first i got when i was young ( i was 9 in 1990) and i saw him in Joseph as well, absolutely fantastic.

Saw him at Brannigans in Ipswich about 7 years ago. He did about 4 songs, but it was only like £2 to get in.

He rocked then too. Did Any Dream Will Do twice if I remember.

Funny how a once superstar can go from selling out big venues to doing pub gigs then appearing on reality tv and selling out smaller venues.

This music biz is a fickle world.

I work with my Uni radio station and Jason is doing a show in a couple of weeks and I get to interview him.

Problem is, I don't really know what to ask him.

Does anyone have any suggestions? (Serious ones) Also things I should probably not ask?

Ask him about his relationship with Kylie, how he feels about her now and if he'd ever imagine getting back with her

Brilliant!

Maybe avoid any references to his legal battle with The Face mag re his sexuality. I don't think it went down too well!

Maybe ask him how he finds being back in the music industry this time around & how different it is from when he was massive in the 80's/90's??

I dunno, I'd just sit there & probably come out with something ridiculous like, "Do you know, when I was 8, I was convinced we were gonna get married?!"

I fear I am going to end up saying the wrong thing and make him angry somehow.

I think I shall talk about Joseph, and perhaps the new search

Talk about Neighbours, and whether he gave any advice to Steph Machintosh (his sister) who is just starting a music career, perhaps what he thinks about the current stories, and whether he was approached to return for the 20th anniversary (because I don't think he was), maybe if he'd ever like to return seeing as his on-screen brother is back, maybe a full-blown Robinson reunion.

I probably will ask how it feels to be back in the music business after all this time, although it might be a bit of a touchy subject seeing as he isn't anywhere near as big now.

I'll mention I'm A Celeb, maybe ask him cheekily what David Gest is really like.

I don't think I should mention Kylie, and definately not his legal battle the The Face.

I'm quite excited now.

Just had to bump up this thread as I saw him in Dublin last night and had the best time! Talk about reminicing, I felt like I was 10 again!

Really hope the new stuff goes well for him and that he releases a new album, the songs sounded great and that one he wrote for his wife's nephew RIP was beautiful.

Jason doesn't do angry. He likes talking to people.

If you had asked him about Kylie he will just say he doesn't see her any longer. I've seen people ask him that before.

He's better in the theatre though than this concert lark he's got back into.

You should've seen him on the Sondheim Sweeney Todd tour last year. That was class.

He's switching on the lights at Merry Hill Shopping Centre (Brierley Hill, West Midlands) 15th November if anyone is interested.
