Alrgiht Now is a great song. Far too big for Lee. His huge limitations, and the reasons why despite all his training (and despite trying full-time since his teens) he hasn't been able to make it in his chosen profession until now, were highlighted like a neon sign for each and every viewer to see this week.

It was a shame because I have always thought and still think that he is among the best three in this show.”

But he has made it - he has been performing professionally since he was 19 or 20....including many stints on the West End. He wouldn't have made it that far is he was as limited as you suggest.

Anyway, I agree the song did test Lee, especially considering the week he had. However, it's a rock song and what does rock have to do with Musical Theatre and Joseph?

He's done a lot better than most of the wannabees who attempt to get on stage in the west end. Hardly anyone reaches the very top and very few make it in the west end. Nobody can sing absolutely everything. An ability to sing All Right Now has nothing to tell us about his suitability for Joseph.

Yup. Someone who I went to school with - lovely lady - recently landed a lead on the West End stage. Put it this way, we're a little older than Lee. She's been onstage in various things over the years but only now is starting to be a bit more noticed. It's a tough profession.

I voted for Rob the Builder, but also think Keith stands a good chance.

What "hissy fit" are you talking about? Since no one is able to quote him in the Sun's "article" we have no idea what he said.

And even if he did go off and vent - doing it behind the scenes is the ONLY place to do it. Any performer will tell you that.

It's a screaming rock howler recorded by a third-rate rock band. Saying that Lee doesn't sing it well is like slating Itzhak Perlman because he drops a couple of notes playing "Oops I Did It Again."

Most of the high level performers of my acquaintance were 30+ by the time they got to that level. Actors/musicians who "make it" in their early 20s are either connected or incredibly lucky. Just ask JB about that - he'll be the first to agree.

You're more generous than I am. To me, the only ones who are serious contenders are Lee and Daniel. The rest are either too inexperienced (CRYING? There's no CRYING in loincloths!) or just plain bad.

Funny how Lee, a front runner to begin with, is gradually being seen in his true colours and most people are seeing him for the joke he is and seeing the reasons why he's tried and tried and tried and tried and has still not made it in his field until now.

Good riddance ASAP.

As the bridesmaid, never the bride.

"Tommy", "Hair", "Godspell" and "Jesus Christ Superstar" to name a legendary few. There are a fair few slightly more recent ones I could name.

Face it, Lee fans, he has shown himself to be not fit for purpose.

he still is a front runner in this poll and with the bookies. the only change is a increase in popularity for Keith.

You seem to be underesimating just how hard it is to make it in this buisness. It has more to do with connections and luck rather than talent.

An example: my dance teacher's 23-year-old daughter is a very talented singer and dancer. She's only just got her west-end debut in the chorus of Mama mia, and she is considerably better connected than Lee would have been. So i would say he has done pretty well for himself.

Do come on, please!

Lee turned it into a scream, and not even rock and definitely not a song.

Or exceptionally talented.

Face it, Lee is the walking definition of the motto "If at first you don't succeed, try, try and try again". Fair enough but when you've been trying very seriously and deteminedly for half your life and have still not got to your destination, bow down gracefully before you become a joke.

Professional musician since the early 70s. I started at 8 and turned pro at 12. I was the youngest member of the AFL-CIO Musicians Union. My first gig was with the Houston Grand Opera orchestra. I was principal cellist of HGO's offshoot, Theatre Under the Stars at 15, and at 17 I triple-threated as cellist/guitarist/singer. I've premiered a dozen or so works written for me as a cellist and soprano. My students perform all over the world. Wanna dance with me?

Since when did this poll reflect the result or realistic standing in these shows? All it takes to distort this poll is to register under a new address just to to vote.

As for the bookies, their odds are based more on bets placed rather than realistic outcome. If they see an increased amount of punters betting on a particular contestant, they will decrease their odds to avoid paying out.

Don't get me wrong. Lee was one of my favourites at the beginning of the series and particularly after first show but he has become increasingly less show and his demonstration of how not to sing and perform over the last two weeks have been the line drawn under the paragraph.

Right then, I'm packing up at the age of 32 and going home because I've not achieved my dream yet. That's the spirit.

Should Daniel quit as well then?

^^Nice!

Let's all live by sHAYneWARD's motto and give up aged 25. If you haven't 'made it' by then, you obviously have nothing to give. Let go of your dreams, it's all over.

What an idiotic thing to imply. If everyone had an attitude like that, half the actors/singers/entertainers we currently have would not exist.

Twerp.

Well done but you're appreciation of a screaching lobster with the acting ability of a cockroach and the presence of an ant could have fooled me.

That's "your" and "screeching," if you'd like to make your rant a little clearer.

Still supporting Lee

I also like Daniel and Keith

Lee for me. Also think Keith rocked it this week, and Daniel's probably safe for a good few weeks.

This thread's getting good! Better than a night in front of the TV. Love it when insults start getting thrown around, it's like a night down my local only a little safer

Sorry about that. Having my professional opinion reduced to two insects and a non-kosher (but yummy!) crustacean brings out the proofreader in me.

Don't worry. Scrolling down the page, that was what hit me too. If you hadn't done it, I would! Nothing more annoying than bad grammar/spelling/punctuation.

On the ant thing... did nobody watch Antz on BBC1 today?! They have a great screen presence!
