Hi,

I have found a camcorder on ebay, it is however from hong kong which is known for low quality goods, I just wanted to know your thoughs on this video camera.

As I may buy, its £90 with P+P

Thanks!

To be honest, I wouldn't go near it - never heard of the brand and it seems to have a limited spec - you might be better off looking at something like this: http://www.jessops.com/Store/s48065/...r/details.aspx

Its small, light, cheap, takes cards but digital zoom only, really need optical zoom as standard this goes with digital cameras as well, if you want to convert to dvd dont think the quality will be there, great on the pc. Depends what you after, really. Its more of a suped up digital camera.

Dont get mixed up with having high mp camera its going to be better. I find it hard to believe manufactures pixel wars are still going on, you dont need anthing higher than 5 in my opinion unless you are really blowing pictures up to a4 or bigger,.

Thanks for the advice everyone, I did read about "interpolating" and that did put me off but now in light of this I shall certainly not be buying.

Thanks!

I think calling this a camcorder is a bit rich- it's a crappy digital camera that can take low resolution movies.... albelit at low frames per second (nice jerk-o-vision)

Spend about £100 - £150 for braned digital camera that has video capability or really just get a MiniDV camcorder that offers high quality (pretty much DVD) recording onto cheap MiniDV tapes and also can double up as a digital camcorder.

Panasonic MiniDV camcorder for £140!

The only downside is that it'll be bigger but will work and isn't junk!
