EastendersVSCoronationStreet

I was wondering,Eastenders and Coronation both had similar storylines recently, with two people looking after babies which weren't theres!

Which soap do you think handled it better? I think Corrie

I do not think there all that similar. Dot nows the baby is not hers and nows she has to give it back. The situation is completley different imo.

But if we had to choose the better story Corrie gets it, just because Eilien is great.

You do realise that anyone that says Eastenders are not as good are going to get a bashing from the Eastenders fanatics.

Although the EEs storyline isn't finished, to me Corrie clearly thought the whole thing through. EEs seemed to use this as a bit of 'filler'.

I can see where you're coming from with this - also many of the young EEs fans don't watch Corrie so have no point of reference really.

well although Dot is more of a character than Eileen. Dot's storyline is terrible. I think even June Brown has said that it's crap!

CS did it well but it was still a crap storyline to both soaps tbh.

They are two completely different scenario"s

One took in a refugee baby illegally and the other thought it was her grandchild.

Of the two story's though i thought that Eilien really added something to hers. When you think it was all centred around Jason she actually mad eme feel like she was the main focal point to the story.

Oh god, you are seriousley asking for trouble with this thread!

For me it varies. I do think Eastenders is better than it was two years ago, but there is still ground to be made up. So for now its Corrie. I just find the Dot and baby storyline silly and far fetched.

They are different storylines. Therefore they don't compare all that well.

Having said that the Dot storyline doesn't take me in like Eileen's storyline did. Therefore as a storyline Dot's is weaker (to me).

I don't watch EE, but I'm sure June Brown does a good job with the material she is given

I liked the Corrie storyline as it involved Eileen; I also liked the twist that it was Charlie's baby.

I change all the time, but at present i'm a huge Corrie fan especially with all the Connor stuff going on, it depends on the storyline that keeps me hooked watching. I do watch Eastenders as well but i don't mind missing one of them at present. To do with the baby storylines, both don't really intrest me to be honest.

Corrie

Though I did find it wierd how they didn't have a test done to see if Holly was Jason's. But both the Eastenders and the Coronation street storylines do seem very unrealistic.

I hate the EE storyline. It is unrealistic IMO. It just gives Dot more opportunities to moan and get stressed out. God help us if the baby ever gets taken away from her care - DEPRESSING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The "Baby Holly" storyline on Corrie was better thought out. I think the fact that it was part of Last year's christmas storylines helped too. The arrival of Baby Holly on Christmas day was well advertised and the storyline was a bit more realistic IMO.

Corrie.

Only because I don't like the way Dot's character is behaving (although June is doing the best with what she has) and think the story is stupid - where is the story heading?

It is nice to see Dot and Honey bonding.

The corrie story was excellent good twist with Charlie being the father.

To be fair, although I much perfer Eastenders as a whole, I have to say the baby Holly storyline is better as it's much more realistic.

I don't think the storylines are similar. Dot has taken an illegal baby whereas Eileen thought her baby was her Grandchild!

Exactly, they are completly different storylines. So asking the question of who handled it better is silly.

Eastenders have done a haff job with this story, it is boring and a bit unrealistic. I think they are now boring people with the whole stax thing as well, so tbh Corrie is killing the soap. It is becoming a chore to turn Eastenders on now days.

Oh and before anyone says don' turn it on then. I actually like some of the storys going on.
