...I've just calibrated my new Toshiba 37" (C3030 series) using Video Essentials DVD and I'm now on 100% backlight / 100% contrast / 70 brightness / 30 colour - (other settings OFF or 0)....
Although the picture looks pretty good (good blacks with shadow detail and whites are not over-exposed - I'm surprised that the settings on Backlight and Contrast have to be set at maximum on a brand new set....!
Surely this can only get worse as the set gets older and I'll have nothing to play with as far as adjusments go ?
Is this a fault to have settings at max or is it 'normal' ??
(NOTE: - this is under daylight viewing conditions - at night I adjust Backlight down to about 50% or perhaps even a wee bit less - Contrast still requires 100%)
