Jadine - Overated?

Time after time on this forum i see people state that Jadine will stay week after week, for the purpose of being entertainment.

However, if you really think, since her massive telling off, and near eviction in Week 3, Jadine has done next to nothing.

Think about this:

Week 1 - Coffee Task
Ok, so Jadine is undoubtably one of the stars in the series premiere. Shes highly funny, with the song and her bickering with Tre was very amusing. She also did a good job to control the (possibly) sexist boys in her role as Eclipse team leader, and on the whole was very entertaining in this episode.

Week 2 - Doggy Task
Now, correct me if im wrong, but Jadine in terms of entertaining behavior did very little this week. All I remember doing was having a quite small argument with Ifty in the kitchen, when the news about him lying about his qualifications for the task came out. Eclipse lost the task, but Rory rightly took Tre and Ifty into the boardroom, and Jadine continued to Week 3.

Week 3 - Kissogram Task
This week was the last time we really saw much of Jadine, and that was only because of her inability to accept Naomi's task plans (regaurdless of how pants they were! ) Jadine was clearly very disruptive in this task, and rightly got a telling off, although then did deserve to stay after her boardroom showdown with Naomi and Gerri. Sir Alan warned Jadine to calm down, and so it seems she has..

Weeks 4 & 5 - London Zoo & Photography Tasks
Since Week 3, Jadine has done nothing much at all, and has found herself completely out of the limelight, while Adam, Katie and co. take over comletely. It almost seems like she wasnt even in these two tasks, and was basically invisable. So much for one of the more entertaning of this years candidates.

Week 6 - France Task
Ok, this week, Jadine's moodswings did pushher into the front a little bit more, but then again, this was only shown qute breifly, and Paul & Katie vs. Kristina & Adam again became the main focus point of the show. Little Jadine action again.

Now consider the other candidates, and the only ones who have been consistanly doing things in the shows are Tre and Katie, while Adam and Kristina also are making up for slow starts by getting more limelight.

It seems to me, that Jadine is living off the limelight of that spectacular first week, and is avoiding the outcry of 'boringness' that has befouled Ghazal, Naomi, Lohit and Simon etc.

Now dont get me wrong, i do like Jadine, but seriously, has she really done that much to gain the praise she has been pilled. The answer my fellow forumers, is no.

I think she has gone quiet because she was warned to by Sir Alan!

If he think sthat she has made an effort to listen and learn, she will be a worthy apprentice in his eyes!

I don't think people are kept on for entertainment. I do think people are kept on to see how the others manage them. The French edit was as much about Tre's and Simon's reaction to her as it was about Jadine herself.

In any case, Jadine has been on the winning team for the last 3 tasks so there's been no opportunity to fire her. I suspect she's been every bit as bad as the French edit showed her still to be, and there just hasn't been time to cover it in the programme. Now we've lost 4 candidates since task 3, so there is more time to show her "entertaining" moodiness.

Everything you said was right apart from the fact that you somehow forgot to mention that at week 3 Jadine was told off and has obviouslt taken on board SAs message and advice which people never thought she would do in a million years! She has been quiet but not pointless......she has not made any mistakes whilst being boring (ie Ghazal and Naomi)

In fact, where HAS Jadine been for the last three weeks?! I mean, there's taking a back seat and there's holding onto the bumper!

Even the lesser spotted Lohir has had more 'attention' than her. Is it just me or has she just been looking ill for the last few episodes?

Either way, her contribution has been absolutely sweet fa. You've got to wonder why SAS hasn't been saying "And just what the hell have you been doing?!"

Because she's obviously been doing fine otherwise she wouldn't have been on the winning team all these weeks.

Dont you get it? It's edited for maximum entertaiment value.

I think you miss my point..

So many times has Jadine been praised for being entertaining, and the likes of Naomi being called boring, but she does nothing..

I didnt mean to say anything bout the editting..

I didn't think it showed her to be as bad as she was in some earlier episodes. It did show her being morose and being annoyed by Simon. It also showed Tre making disparaging remarks about her and Naomi. But on what basis, if any, other than his irrational misogyny?

What are you referring to? Naomi hasn't made any mistakes or been boring, so far as I am aware.

Yes, that has struck me once or twice. Maybe she goes up and down.

I think Jadine's desperately been keeping a low profile since being given that ticking off in the early stages by SAS.

I didn't see any reason for his attacking Naomi. She seemed to keep out of the bad stuff.

As I recall, Simon used the phrase "You guys" and Jadine took offence, thinking it excluded her and Naomi. Which wasn't his intent, and "guys" can include women (they use it a lot in US sitcoms). So Jadine's taking umbrage was unnecessary and unconstructive and apparently led to a row which Lohit had to mediate. It was a big deal. Jadine is hard to live with sometimes.

I find it hard to judge based on the tiny bit of footage we saw...

Surely there had to be more to it than that?

Agreed. She had some gripe about him in the car. Don't know if it reolated to the incident when he referred to those present as 'guys' which she took exception to, as she was entitled to do. It could have been about that or something else. Maybe he has an attitude that she doesn't like. Maybe she just doesn't like him for some personal reason.

But the editors of the programme don't even show her during the tasks (where was she during the art episode) last week all she was seen doing in France (other than arguing with Simon) was nodding and smiling during a negotiation.

Now either bbc want us to absolutely detest her by strategically showing us her volatile side but concealing her input to the task at hand or she only came on to the show to cause grief and really has zero business potential

Either way she isn’t being kept In for her entertainment if anything she is being erased for reasons un known. Its so obvious they are editing it do make her look worse, weird how people see what the want to see though

Wrong! She wasn't objecting to the term 'guys' at all. It was quite clear that she and Simon were having an ongoing feud which continued into their meeting. The term 'guys' was incidental to whatever it was they were arguing about.

Sometimes we blame the editing, but I fail to see how you could have misconstrued this to fit your interpretation.

The 'you guys' clearly wasn't the start as Jadine sat in the corner looking sulky and tried to talk over simon when he was making his point...

As for the first task, she did win, but she was a terrible leader and they only won because the other team were rubbish. She split up their top sales team because she had a personal problem with them and effectly limited her teams selling potential because she refused to see a point of view which wasn't hers.

She said, "Don't guys me" and something like, "I'm involved". Simon says, "Guys, girls, regardless", so clearly he thought she was objecting to the term too. I agree it was on-going, but that was what that bit was about.

I think it was Naomi who talked over Simon - the camera cuts to her just as she is finishing. It seemed to be just a mistake. She said, "That's very constructive" and was about to chip in with an idea of her own, and hadn't realised that Simon had more to say. And then Jadine jumps in.

Agreed. And she tried to give the customers an Eclipse branded experience when they all they wanted was a cup of coffee. And she gave Naomi a hard time on the £200 task. And she was part-responsible for Ghazal's team losing several batches of chocolate and wasting hours. I have a very low opinion of her - I'm seeing lots that's bad and not really anything good.

As usual where Jadine is concerned, I have to wonder what episode you were watching. Naomi was being sarcastic, and it's clear she was very wound up by Simon - and if his head-wobbling Indian impersonation is anything to go by, we can only wonder what he's like to live with in the house.

Jadine's performance on that task was not brilliant, but she did show initative to go out and sell to the offices, and as for being part-responsible for wasting hours - have a look at the unseen clips on the BBC will you (and I know you watched some). Not only was Ghazal singled out by the Choccy factory man as being ineffectual, it was Jadine's idea to bump up the price of lollies in order to compensate for low stock. Despite Naomi's terrible performance as team leader, and despite her praising jadine on her site (which I think YOU provided the link to) you insist on seeing what you want to see with Jadine. Please, please, please tell me that your not a high court judge, or in any position of authority, because you seem a very narrow-minded individual to me. And to think, I apologised because I thought I was unfairly getting on your case....

That's the kind of thing Simon - with his one-tracked mind - would come out with though and you fell for it. She didn't mean it in that context. She meant 'Don't talk me down'.
