I'd disagree with that, the Tunnel of Love album is a masterpiece. Many diehards have that as there favourite.

The Rising tour was great also. What I admire Bruce for was after the tour you mention (BITUSA) Bruce didn't try and copy and repeat past success like many others always do (Bon Jovi spring to mind) , but tried different directions - Solo Acoustic, Folk band, different band etc......

Easily every Springsteen show I've seen. For example - At Sheffield in '88 he came on stage, did 90 mins, 20 min break, another 90 mins followed by a 1 hour encore.... 4 hours in total. At that stage he was running around the stage constantly also.

I went the next night and he played the same length again, but half the setlist had changed from the previous night. Even the Police on duty were dancing. I'll never forget it.

Second place would go to The Police on their Synchronicity Tour in '83 followed in third by U2 at Wembley in '87 on the Joshua Tree tour.

This is often a topic of conversation that I have, with friends and others. For me however, it's an odd base as to how to compare concerts of different types of bands.

I got to say for the whole package Queen at Knebworth was stunning. The complete package.

Then on reunion tour a couple of years back Simon and Garfunkel produced the greatest musical performance by anyone I've ever seen live. Tears ran down my face through a lot of songs due to the perfection level reached.

The James gig mentioned was a good old party for sure, hit laden and wonderful experience. If I'm honest, it's was the equal of the Knebworth gig. However, Mick the MEN gig wasn't the best James concert of last weekend. Last Monday they played the Manchester Academy, and produced a set quite the opposite of the MEN, and yet the gig was so much stornger and better. Yet the confines of the venue meant that it wasn't close to what had taken place a couple of nights before in terms of complete package.

Have to agree with a couple of the previous postings - Bruce at Wembley in '85 and the Freddie Mercury tribute. Add to that Queen at Wembley in '86.

It’s all down to personal choice and to me Tunnel of Love signaled the end of Bruce as we knew him. Obviously getting hitched to Patti had a lot to do with it as well.

Most Bruce fans I know state born in the USA or the River as the best album, don’t know many who even rate Tunnel of love that high, but its really personal choice.

Madonna's Confessions Tour, absoloutely amazing.

I also saw The Bangles on tour which may seem a bit naff to a lot of people but to me it was really special.

Well I know my choice is not "cool".

However, if your choice is the old fashioned concept of a straightforward concert with a solo singer and a band, then the best live singer I've ever seen is Michael Ball.

There are no dancing girls or boys, no spectacular effects and no gimmicks. But what you do get is a really great singer and entertainer who can hold the stage without the need for them.

If you think getting hitched to Patti had a lot to do with Tunnel of love, you'd be wrong. Tunnel of Love is basically a collection of songs charting the breakdown of a marriage. It is pretty autobiographical as at the point of TOL's release Bruce's marriage to Julianne Philips was pretty much over. When myself and other fans heard it - we all thought his marriage was over.

Get yourself over to Bruce's forums, you'll find many that love Tunnel of Love. (One thing though - lay off slagging Sky Anytime !! they are not as gentle as here)

New album around September by the way......Not all the E Street Band are on it though. The final tour with them starts soon after.....

I love the River also.....

I meant it was the start of the dimise of that style of music that really made him what he was and also what he was best at.

Of course many love it, I like a lot of the album as well but in my eyes Born in the USA was the end of the best Bruce Era. Nothing he has done since comes close.

What the hell has this got to do with this topic, so is everyone on the bruce board a Sky anytime lover is that what you mean. And whats wrong with slagging anytime, its crap, and more and more are starting to come to this opinion as well. But still cant understand what on earth Bruce Springsteen fans have got to do with Sky anytime.

Queen - Aberdeen 1975 - outstanding
AC/DC - Aberdeen w/Bon Scott, pure energy
Slade - Dundee mid 70's, fantastic atmosphere (and the first 5 rows of seats got wrecked!)

Depeche Mode - 30th March 2006, MEN Arena (wish I could have seen them earlier though!)

Tool - 13th May 2002, Brixton Academy... I've seen them 7 times so far, but this one stands out as the best I think.

Yes forgot about Slade, awesume in the 70's.

And motorhead for hearing damage. Saw these in 1980 I think, my hearing was wrecked for almost 2 weeks.

Saw Robbie at Roundhay Park last year and although not a big fan (I took my mate as a birthday present), I have to say I enjoyed it a lot.

But for me nothing will beat seeing U2 in Manchester on their Vertigo tour. Was lucky enough to get right to the front and was completely blown away!! They were amazing.

However I am going to see Metallica at Wembley in July so my fave ever concert may change , but they will have to go some to beat U2.
