L'Arc~en~Ciel - Le Zénith, Paris (2008-05-08)
First concert/gig were I travelled to another country, it was the first time L'Arc~en~Ciel played in Europe (they're a popular Japanese band, big deal touring outside Japan) and I wasn't willing to miss it. Had such an amazing time and one of the best openings to a gig ever. Mike Park/Sundowner/Matthew Reynolds - Some students' house, Southampton (2008-02-23) A collection of acoustic artists playing at a large student house. My first house gig, very intimate and probably the best atmosphere at a gig I've ever been to. Chatting to one of my personal heroes was awesome. Big D and the Kids Table - The Furnace, Swindon (2004..I think) Nothing but pure energy and fun. Capitan Everything - The Furnace, Swindon (2005) Their gigs are always fun, seen them 10+ times but this time they dedicated a song to my mother. The crowd was singing "Woah! Mrs Stallard", quite funny really. All Lightyear reunion gigs - Darby, Bristol and Yeovil This band likes to get naked and so does the crowd, makes for a very entertaining gig. Each gig had its special moments to. |

Take That's comeback concerts in 2006 are my favourite. I went to one at Wembley Arena and then one at Milton Keynes bowl the month after and they were amazing.
I loved all the old Party in the Park's that Capital FM used to do as well. I went to every one and each time they got better. Happy days sitting in Hyde Park drinking, eating & chatting to anyone - not to mention all the different acts!

The Silver Clef concert? I was there... yup, it was excellent
![]() Which is why for me it will always be my first concert - Genesis at Knebworth, 1978 (with about half a dozen support bands including Tom Petty... )... the beginning of my Genesis obsession... just standing there and feeling the music resonating through my legs and quite literally into my heart... I just hope my kids feel the same way about them at Twickenham this Sunday ![]() . Didn't Roy Harper make an appearance too ?

Jean Michel Jarre at Wembley Stadium. 1992.
Probably the most spectacular show I have ever seen. It even beat Micheal Jackson's Dangerous tour and Madonna's tour. Having said that, those shows were rather impressive too. I still remember the intro. It started with a video that was a montage of clips and photos set to O Fortuna (the Old Spice music), and at the end, all the lights on stage turned to the audience, flashed brightly and when they went off, Micheal Jackson was standing in the Middle of the rather large stage. Of course, how they did it is easy (they flashed the lights to dazzle the audience and simply put Micheal on a fast lifting trap door) but it looked amazing. |

My favourite 2 concerts I have been to are as follows.
Bryan Adams, Celtic Park, July 1992 with the supports acts being starting off with Squeeze who opened, followed by Little Angels, then Extreme, before Bryan took to the stage. I remember waiting patiently in the rain then the mad dash to try get to the front did not bad was about 3 back from front barriers to the stage. Also Thin Lizzy 1977 at Edinburgh Odeon in Clerk Street, I won a competition to win tickets for this one. One memory of this was looking at the time on the clock in the Odeon and realising I was going to miss the last train back home I thought sod it and stayed for the end of the concert. ended up sleeping in the night porters office at Waverley station until the first train back homein the morning. Been to many other excellent gigs but with what happened at and around the timeof these gigs probaby makes them stand out more. Last edited by BigPete : 04-10-2008 at 02:03. Reason: spelling |

Deacon Blue - The Studio Bristol Oct '88.
They were 2 hours late as the very same night they'd recorded their TOTP debut with Real Gone Kid. They didn't take to the stage til about 10.30pm and it was obvious to everyone that they were really up for it that night as they had "made it"! |

Best concert I've ever seen was last night at the Playhouse in Southend on the 'Classic Legends Of Rock' tour.
Started off with Groundhogs - sorry but I didn't enjoy them, although the crowd seemed to. Then Wishbone Ash came on. They were absolutely brilliant and I loved them. But the greatest act I've ever seen or am ever likely to see, were my heroes Focus. They exceeded my every hope, after waiting 36 years to see them. Thijs van Leer is a complete genius beyond compare. Niels van der Steenhoven, Pierre van der Linden and Bobby Jacobs were all superb too, I really can't say how much I enjoyed it. It was simply the greatest show ever and the best night of my life. I met them all afterwards and they couldn't have been nicer. I'll never get over it or forget it. |

Metallica at Marlay Park in Dublin - 30,000 sell-out crowd on a night where the weather was actually dry for once! Metallica were amazing, played all their best old songs and also dropped the new song 'Cyanide' as well. Absolutely incredible adreneline rush! Tenacious D were the opening act as well, which made it extra cool!

Muse Muse 16th June 2007. Such an amazing atmosphere, helped by quite good support acts, but who were in no way in league with Muse. Pyrotechnics, acrobats on balloons, spheres filled with feathers and streamers...I have never seen anything like it.
Each song they played received a rousing reception. I also loved that you couldn't define the audience into one category, there were old and young people, smart and casual, die-hard fans. |

Daft Punk at Global Gathering 2006, without a doubt.
Saw them again last year, but 2006 was unbelievable. THey hadnt played in the UK for 9 years, the anticipation in the tent was like nothing i have ever felt before, and when the curtains came back on that pyramid, the place erupted. Greatest 90 minutes of my life. Last year was almost as incredible. The set was technically better, but it never got close to feeling as amazing as 2006. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ItqVgaTIjI Plenty of other incredible gigs. Justice 4 times, and Queen & Paul Rodgers were all fantastic too. |

Pink Floyd at Earls Court ( Pulse Tour) is still the best gig I've ever seen as I'd not been into them for long and was totally blown away.
Muse @ Brixton Academy just before their 2nd album came out was a stunning gig. Sadly they'll never play a venue like that again but they were truly stunning. I've seen them since but that will always be their best. U2 @ Wembley 1987 ( Joshua Tree) tour which was my 1st stadium gig and they were awesome as thy still played lot's of their back catalogue. Foo Fighters @ O2 last year, they still go through their entire catalogue and the 30 minute acoustic set is a joy to listen to. Kaiser Chiefs & Maximo Park @ Brixton Academy about 4-5 years ago. Kaisers were headlining and were superb for 75 mins. Maximo Park were brilliant as their support and getting near the front for a good old jump around was quality for me. |
