Is Katie a produce of editing?
JTW

This question needs to be asked.

Some fms think so.

So maybe this thread should be the one to argue it out.

Personally, I find it hard to believe that they could edit her in a good light, saying what she has.

Arguably fms have said that others could equally have said stuff that has not made the edits....and that they 'the production' have it in for her as the 'bad girl' of the series.

Hmm.....what do you guys think?

I started out thinking she was Ok, she was low profile and standard competent (not high flier material) as a Pm on the dog task, she did let Ghazal hang a bit too long when she froze during an important presentation; she should have jumped in sooner to help IMO, if she had really seen the importance of the order from Pet World (?), but I suspect she still hoped for a high prestige/niche order at that stage, to make a killing on mark up, not a mass market order.

We do not see the exact sequence of events. Katie is being badly edited, but she provides the ammunition, and as far as I am concerned, it could not be better used.

With the comments she made, such as wishing death on other candidates, I can't see how she's a product of editing in the slightest!

Unless all the others are making similar comments and they aren't being show

I think Katie is fantastic! She says what she thinks and some of what she says is particularly witty.

And who cares how she is being edited? The public don't get to vote so it doesn't matter.

I'm interested to see how she behaves now fellow bonker Paul has been fired.

She's obviously doing it on purpose to make an impression and the editors are happy to co-operate with her. She's smart enough to know getting as much airtime as possible is the key to long term success after The Apprentice. "I know, I'll be uber-bitch". Good luck to her, none of it's that nasty because it's so obviously cartoon insults

I like Katie also. Was beginning to think I was the only one.

She reminds me of Maggie Thatcher defending Pinochet in light of the charges of war crimes against him.

The final episode of the Apprentice USA Season 3 was interesting as the one of the finalists was singled out (by almost everybody asked by Donald Trump for their opinion)as being a spiteful cow and was fired by Trump for the same reasons. Seen her on infomercials in the US, selling the 'Bedazzler'

There has to be something there to edit!

I think she knows exactly what she's doing, most of her nasty remarks have been direct to camera, not muttered in a moment of frustration, which I could perhaps excuse.

I think she's setting herself up as someone who will be remembered and get tv work afterwards based purely on being "that nasty bitch from The Apprentice".

please let me know what she's said that's witty - all I ever hear out of her mouth is how great she is and how crap everyone else is

I think to a degree that you have to be wary of the way the show is being edited. However, as a previous poster pointed out most of Katie's venemous remarks are being said direct to camera and not during the execution of the tasks themselves (when they could possibly be excused due to the pressure of the situation).

I think she's a product of Sandhurst, public school and a decidedly unfortunate genetic mix.

Witty? Spiteful and malicious more like. She says the sort of thing kids yell at each other in a playground fight.
What's witty about wanting people dead?

You mean Tana! She is hilarious on those Bedazzler ads On the Apprentice USA season 3 it became increasingly clear through editing that it was Kendra who should (and indeed did) end up winning.

Tana, who I really liked all season as she came across as smart, friendly and with a good business mind suddenly was being shown as looking down her nose, snapping at and generally bitching about the others. At the final show everyone went on about how awful she was and how she was such a cow and because of that she was fired, and I felt really p***** off as the editors had apparently painted a false picture of her, tricking me into thinking that she was lovely!!

Editing can make someone look boring or lazy by leaving out all the interesting things they do. It can emphasis one person's contribution over another. My feeling that Lohit is a bit invisible, for example, is probably just editing.

It can twist what someone says by leaving out a section. It is hard to imagine though that Katie said, 'Adam is a lovely man and I hope he wins but if he got run over that would make my day' and they simply left out the first bit. Katie says too many deliberate, thought through bitchy things for it to be accidental. That line about Kristina being 'too orange' was particularly intentional and practised. She clearly thinks that she's making her name. I'm sure the editors were rubbing their hands with glee that she was willing to be so nasty, but they couldn't put such snobbish things into her mouth if she didn't choose to say them.

I noticed that when Lohit was PM. The hardly focussed on him at all. I said to my other half that it meant he was doing a good job and the producers didn't have anything juicy on him.

Normally the PM is the target in their task.

There's nothing witty about saying, "I wish he'd die." However, she actually said something about him getting run over in his own parking lot, which is rather more imaginative, colourful and poetic. A lot of her comments are like that.

She's not to be taken seriously.

I doubt she actually wanted anyone dead, just wanted some attention.
