We the undersigned respectfully request that ALW and co. make sensible song selections that DO NOT include any of the following:

Songs that the singer has to shout
Well-known showstoppers by McFly
Rap songs
Any more Take That
Songs that are known to be pure crap.
We also submit that in a show where the aim is to cast the lead role in a musical that there might be one or two showtunes. Y'know, just because it might be fun.

seconded! May I also politely request that you refrain from giving Daniel love songs for a while in order for him to be able to show you his much requested by the judges 'more aggressive' side? Just a thought.

Add to that: please get rid of the clips of the grandmother's and the girlfriends, and give us more clips of the Josephs training. Also, it would be nice to start seeing these Josephs' acting.

no more pop songs.

Come on ALW you say you dont want a pop singer, then give them some show tunes.

Need to see some proper acting and singing from all the contestants

You'd really think they'd have learnt from last time, when everyone complained about there being no show tunes and not enough acting... we don't really need to know how versatile they are, as we're just casting one role here!

I want more musical theatre! We could easily be sending the wrong guys home because of the wrong genre they are giving the lads.

I still remember Chris C's exit. From a lack lustre pop tune to an amazing finale. I'm not saying he was Joseph but it went to show what he was capable of which the public just wasn't aware of when voting.

I completely agree. Did poor Chris B, who manifestly adored musical theatre, get any show songs at all? Again, I'm not saying he'd necessarily have lasted longer, but he'd have enjoyed it more and so would the audience. The same goes for some of the others, whereas some of the guys, who are basically primarily stand-and-deliver singers, would have had an appropriately tougher ride.

I imagine it is more the BBC than ALW - they probably think the viewers would switch off if the songs were all from musicals when, let's face it, the show is largely going to appeal to fans of musical theatre!

The extra time should be given to longer performance rather than the standard 90 seconds or so.

Last year at least in the sing-off they sang show tunes... don't really get where the ideas for the songs are coming from this year! The show tunes they have picked have largely been the ones no one really knows! More acting classes, better songs.

Seriously, give Daniel a song that won't let him smile cutesily down the camera and to some girl... something really rough, tough and gritty.

I don't mind about the pop music stuff, but they need pop music stuff that's performable and has a story behind it... something dramatic and exciting like.... erm.... well, nothing from the last 5/10 years really. And stuff with a decent tune! Whatever you say about ALW's musicals (and I say an awful lot, not all of it positive), they have good tunes!

My vote goes to:
more Elton John

strangely, more Disney tunes... old school Disney songs are quality and have many of the same qualities as show tunes

no more "it's 11.30 at a family wedding and everyone is plastered so this is a good song" songs... you know the sort I mean

Not asking for much!

Poor old Gary Barlow must have been cringing the last 2 weeks with 2 of his songs sung by cats being slowly strangled !

And definately no more family VT's, i cant bear it! I'm sorry but i dont wanna see nana whosits or uncle whats his name! More rehearsal and acting footage please!

And if we could have some fly on the wall house snippets too, that would be appreciated. And if the camera happens to pan on Daniel in the shower, well thats even better!

Show tunes show tunes show tunes, we arent looking for a pop idol

And more behind the scenes stuff in terms of how they chose their songs etc, and less stuff where they seem to bitch about each other, i don't think that adds anything to the programme.

Oh and please stop playing the Phantom theme every time we are introduced to Andrew.

agree with all said, and for the love of god stop giving them songs with falsetto! Most of the Josephs are obviously complete sh**e at it, and it isn't even needed for the part any way!

This show is like a giant job interview, right?

Experience is held against the applicant, and the applicant is tested on skills that are not needed for the job.

Yeah. Okay.
