Emmerdale's Sharon: I love her

Finally, the great Val has someone she spar with properly.

Vicky Hawkins looks like she's watched a few past Val episodes and taken on board a lot of the past critisms she recieved. Now I can see totally her fitting into the village and Sharon's relationship with Val holds a lot of promise, unlike Val's relationship with her crap son, Paul, a character to self absored, he might as well have a relationship with himself. It doesnt help that Mathew Bose couldn't act his way out of a paper bag to save his life.

I'm looking forward to the writers developing Val/Sharon's relationship and I hope they do it better than Steph/Tricia's. That had a lot of promise until Tricia ended up dead under the chimney.

I just picture her from when she was in Byker Grove playing Claire Rivers the dj.

But must admit her are Val are great together, when she started reading out her speech last night it was really funny.

"What's she gonna look like with a chimney on her?"

It's nice to see a Geordie being brought into the show to play one of Val's children. I've been laughing at Paul since he came into the show. I wonder if "losing his accent" is code for "Mr. Bose can't speak Geordie."

I think so, he doesn't fit in with Val and Sharon... though Diane doesn't have a strong Geordie accent, and neither did Bernice or Rodney, and they're all supposed to come from Newcastle aren't they?

Diane left Newcastle though and raised Bernice elsewhere.

Paul doesn't fit in. Full stop. He's either whinging or disapproving. So boring too.

Yeah, what is his purpose? Token gay? It's like Sean in Corrie, just more boring and less camp "acting".

You got it, Shameless. Got it in one.

Well he isn't the only one in the village, but don't get me started on Grayson.

Yeah he's REALLY gay him isnt he? What with all the boffing away he appears to do with that woman... what is she again? Oh yeah, his wife.

The writers know they screwed up that one. All it was with Grayson was "Sensationalism" and considering the fact that Chris Villiers looks uncomfortable about it, it doesn't bode well.

Personally I think Jonny Foster is a better representation of a homosexual character in the village. He doesn't walk around with "Big Gay" tattooed on his forehead. Richard Grieve is also a very good actor.

I agree about Jonny, he's a more realistic gay.

And very easy on the eyes, tall, handsome, a very cute smile and that silverfox hair..

Stop me before I drool on the keyboard.

Lol, he's not that good looking... I can't see the attraction in Andy either...

Karl Davies, Luke Tittensor, Jeff Hordley, Matthew Wolfenden, David Crellin, Daniel Brocklebank, Ben Freeman and Matt Healy, however, are my cup of tea!

She's great - was good in Byker. Has there been any reason to why Val and her have the same accent but Paul doesn't??

But the question is, Val said she gave birth to her when she was 17. Isn't Paul older than her? And if he is, that makes Rodney have something in common with Andy sugden doesn't it?!?
