Hollyoaks - Monday 7th May 2007

Calvin is concerned about Sonny getting to school, but Louise has got other things on her mind. Sasha notices that Louise has taken a pregnancy test and seems nervous about the outcome. When the test comes back positive, Louise seems edgy and with good reason; she isn’t sure if the baby is Calvin’s or Warren’s. When Louise tells Calvin he’s going to be a daddy he’s absolutely thrilled - but she feels guilty. However, when Warren finds out the news, he wastes no time in bursting Calvin’s bubble, with a shocking confession…

Meanwhile, Katy is determined to do her own thing, even if it means annoying Warren. She’s still got the hots for Justin and she and Clare are fast becoming friends. When Warren discovers Katy and Clare having a heart to heart he flips, but Katy is sick of him treating her like an eight year old. Warren tries to warn Katy off Clare, but she’s one person who doesn’t always obey her brother’s orders.

Elsewhere, Steph’s solicitor tells her she’s got to start doing some charity work if she wants to get her hands on her Auntie’s loot. Darren points out that this might prove a bit difficult, because Steph, like him, doesn’t 'do nice'.

And Amy and Josh are pining for each other in school; it seems that revision and detention are keeping them both apart. Josh plans to smash the fire alarm to grab a few precious moments with Amy, but he can’t bring himself to do it…

A pretty average episode tonight, i personally thought. All the scenes i seen in this episode were fairly average probably because they involved the storylines and characters that i'm least interested in.

The Louise scenes were ok, i liked it how Sasha found out that Louise was pregnant first and how Louise made Sasha promise not to say anything. After a few weeks of them not being the bestest of friends, this sown the seed for them to get along.

I am not finding the character of Katy particulary interesting, but i like the way she wound Warren up in this episode speaking to Clare. I can see a real good friendship progress between Katy and Clare. Hopefully i'll warm to the character of Katy a lot more over the coming weeks. I liked how Clare also mentioned being married, atleast there was a bit of continuity there.

I found the Amy/Josh stuff quite filler, but i thought it was a nice touch to the episode as it showed the two teenage lovers struggling to see each other, and i found this very realistic, even if it was one of the most boring part of the episode for me.

I liked the scene with Warren, Louise and Calvin. Louise and Warren's faces were absolute pictures when Calvin announced to Warren that Louise was pregnant, it was a wonderful moment and i liked the confrontation between Calvin and Warren at the end, it's great to watch the rivalry between the pair continue and it also left a great cliffhanger for the next episode as we're all wondering how Calvin will react towards Louise following Warren's revelation. My hatred of Warren is ignited here as i really didn't want him to tell Calvin about him and Louise sleeping together, and split up a perfectly happy couple.

The Steph rocket stuff was quite dull, but i do like the character of Elliot, he's quite a colourful character and i do like some of Elliot's classic lines, it was nice to see Darren too as he does provide some comedy in the episodes that he is in.

5/10.
