I really liked the actor of Daniel, he seemed like a fairly realistic kid of that age. Unlike some

Great episode!!!

I have to say that I am on Ken's side with regard to Daniel. I know that Denise said that she contacted him when they moved back to Manchester but the damage had already been done. Like Ken said to Daniel something along the lines of " the more time that passes the harder it gets". I can understand that.

Blanche was really funny. Loved all her scenes tonight.

The scene that got me was when Ken came home to get a few things and when Ken asked what Deirdre was going to be doing she said that she was going to babysit for Liz. I thought it was a weird way to put it seeing as it is HER granddaughter that they were talking about.

Another reasonable episode, although not a great deal of comedy.

I enjoyed the stuff with Ken & Daniel & thought that came across quite realistically, especially with Daniel calling Ken "Ken" rather than Dad. Ken misunderstanding Denise's offer of a bed for the night was a bit weak though, although perhaps he still feels he's irresistible to women!
I also liked Deirdre's comment about telling people that Ken was in watching a documentary. That was so appropriate & would be something that people could easily believe.

Liked Molly's "you need two to make a brainwave" as well as Gail's comment about Jason's brain (or lack thereof).

Vera & Jack were ok but nothing special. The stuff about the music making Vera want to wee was no doubt intended to be funny but it just didn't work at all for me.

Connor stuff was again, the best thing in the episode, especially Leanne reminding Paul that he has a marriage to lose & that little wave of hers at the end of the episode as he went by in the taxi.

6 and a half out of 10.

Blanche's behaviour was APPALLING. let's not forget.. this was a meeting of the "first time" of father and son.

it was lower than low.

Jack and Vera REALLY need to leave. Talk about rehashing the same joke:yawn:

I found tonight's two episodes pretty average. My favourite scenes were with the Connors and the scenes between Ken and Daniel. The kid who plays Daniel is a very good actor, and he represents a typical 12 year old boy very well. Him bonding with Ken were very touching scenes to watch, but i didn't appreciate Blanche poking her nose in. She wasn't her usual comical self tonight in my opinion.

The stuff with the Connors was great. There was an uncomfortable atmosphere between Leanne and Paul and this was put across really well. It was a really nice mini cliffhanger to end the first episode with Paul wanting to speak Liam.

The second episode started off well, liked the scenes with Leanne and Paul, with Leanne reminding Paul what he coud lose and the ending of the episode was great with Leanne waving to Paul with a smile on her face.

The scenes with Derek and Liz were really boring, and i thought Liz would go for a man with a bit more life in him. Derek isn't the type of man i thought Liz would go for, he just seems a bit dull and 2D.

The stuff with Jack and Vera was filler but good enough, along with Chesney scenes.

6/10

No I agree Blanche went way over the line. What right does she have to poke her nose in to this issue... when she isn't even right... I think that was past even her standards.

Even so I think she was trying to pretend she was on Deirdre's side for the day, even though Deirdre'd never act like that

I am finding Blanche inconsistent at the moment, she cannot seem to make up her mind who's side she is on.

Are you not fed up with the same old recycled 'swamp duck' routine and Jack avoiding spending time/sleeping with Vera. But always different scenarios. I am well and truly over J&V after loving them in the 80's/early 90's.

Yes she was a disgrace. I hate how they keep changing her personality all the time. She can be quite endearing and witty at times then they have her spouting abuse that no one would take in real life.

I agree Blanche went way too far. Accusing Denise of getting physical by just touching her ! She shouldn't have even got through the door.

Seemed a bit far fetched.

I enjoyed the all the scenes with R'Leanne in them though. She's a star !

Overall quite a good episode, although it felt sort of gloomy.

Should I start watching Emmerdale, soapfans? Glynis Barber said it was all very camp on Paul O' Grady. Corro needs to get back to some comedy - although Liz and Derek almost made me laugh ! how sordid its all become.

Maybe this is the start of a dementia storyline. As for her crashing the reunion it's pretty typical of her really and possibly wasn't meant to be funny.

J and V in the early 90s was great. That scene after Vera has been told Tommy was sold to the Hortons was heartbreaking, seeing her trying to chase the car down the street. Their comedy back then was top-notch as well. Nowadays they can't handle big storylines as the actors are both ill and to me the writers seem to have got very lazy with them.

As for Liz and Derek - that changing the sheets conversation almost made me sick. But that's the sort of humour I often enjoy.

I totally agree. The comedy bits that they've had over the last few weeks have left me bored to tears and I absolutely love J&V.

We see nothing off them for 2 months or so (funny to hear Jack ask about Ken tonight, when he's only been missing for a week or two) then they come back in with a contrived storyline about Vera tripping over Jacks clutter on the stairs.

You can imagine the scriptwriters thinking the baby alarm is comedy gold, but for me it was just

J&V deserve to be in more scenes and have some decent storylines and better dialogue. The last 2 weeks it's been obvious they're just being trotted out for the poorest over-worked comedy efforts they've ever had to act out !

As much as I love them, it's time for Vera to win the lottery and they retire to Spain. Let someone new have No.9

Blanche's script very poor I thought. An unnecessary scene, adding nothing to the storyline. Who's side is she on, anyway, one minute it's Deirdre's, the next it's Ken's, so inconsistent.

Watching Vera and Jack, I kept thinking they're only on because most of the cast are on holiday. Seemed like time-filling to me.

Jane Danson was the best last night, I thought. Oh, and little Amy when she blew her Gran a kiss.

Carla is growing on me more and more, loving the scenes between her and Paul.
Blanche was great going round to follow Ken, she's brilliant.

It's supposed to be a 'normal' street. They can't all be having high dramatics all the time. Just ordinary life - it's what makes Corrie a national treasure.

Lol, well Liam, Paul and Michelle are meant to be brothers and sisters so maybe for one the producers wanted them to look simular to each other.
