It has become increasingly obvious that certain candidates would have been "fired" were this a contest that had a public vote.

But public disapproval of Katie or Tre (earlier on), or sympathy for Adam, counts for nothing. I wonder if SirAlan (and Margaret & Nick for that matter) gets to see all the footage we do? Especially the stuff in the house, when they are chatting, when they are talking to the camera individually.

SirAlan gives the impression in the BR that he is relying solely on anecdotal evidence from Nick & Margaret. Even they don't see everything that goes on in the tasks!

I suppose that reflects the limits of what an employer knows about his staff, but I can't help feeling that things would turn out differently if some of the behaviour shown to us was taken into account more. Has he heard what Katie says about her fellow candidates? Has he seen them ruthlessly picking on Adam?

I'm mad about this because I lost all respect for one candidate last week due to their behaviour. I have heard that this candidate does rather well and don't think they deserve to!

Given how much footage the production company must shoot, i doubt he gets to see much, if any of it. There just wouldn't be time.

However, it would possibly have a bearing on the live final when he would've been able to see the finished product already. As such, if either of the finalists said something to the camera he really didn't like, that may affect things.

Assuming that he bothers to watch it!

For all we know he may prefer to not watch what could be the biassed view put forward by the production company.

Yes, he does see it and he's obviously briefed by Nick and Margaret.

He wrote a piece in one of the Sunday papers yesterday and from the way I read it, he had no intention of dismissing Adam at all last week.

If you check here you will see that Sir Alan doesn't watch any of the footage. He would either have to watch the edited version (potential biased view) or all the footage (unbiased, but prolonged viewing).

Um, the link you cite in #6 says the opposite:

I've told you before, but have to say it again. Apart from what Nick and Margaret tell me, I don't know what the Apprentices get up to on the tasks. It's not until I watch the show, just before you do, that I see what an utter disaster things can be.

He doesn't see any footage until shortly before it is broadcast - presumably at or around the You're Fired recording. This makes sense because they shoot tons and there wouldn't be time to edit it before the boardroom.

However, I am fairly sure he gets feedback from the show's producers as well as from Nick and Margaret. He may well know what candidates are saying in their pieces to camera, even if N&M don't.

I think the producers do to an extent get a say in what happens.

In America they have to have disclaimers for everything, and it says at the end of America's Next Top Model the judges consider their scores with input from Bravo TV (I am paraphrasing here).

Not sure where we stand in Britain on having to put these kind of claims on our shows but it wouldn't surprise me if the production companys have a say in who goes.

I think he must see some footage because he talks about the task as if he has seen it. I doubt he could make a good decision without some sort of viewing of the footage.
