Toshiba 28YT56B TV Sound & Channel Problems

Nearly 1 year ago I bought a 28" Toshiba flat screen (non HD) TV which has served me well until now. About a month ago I bought a Digihome PVR and connected it to TV via scart.

It may be coincidence but since just after I connected the PVR, the TV has started playing up. Its main trick is the sound shuts off and the TV controls are completely disabled at the remote and at the TV. I have to shut the TV off and on again at the switch.

It also occasionally changes to an AV channel for no apparent reason, although the timing is quite eerie - it is often when a scene ends or a commercial break starts.

I'm wondering if the PVR is sending anything down the scart lead to cause this. I haven't tried disconnecting it to experiment yet as its an intermittent fault and takes a while to occur.

My TVs warranty will run out in June - can anyone suggest what to do?

Could be sending a signal to switch onto AV, although whether that could be linked to sound problems is another question. Probably best to at least try disconnecting the PVR for a while and see how the TV behaves.
