Sorry if this has already been posted or is old news but according to the ITV soap forums, we will soon be able to watch old episodes of Emmerdale on the website for it.

http://community.itv.com/showthread.php?t=10389 scroll down a few posts and you'll see what I mean. It was posted by ITV themselves, so it sounds pretty certain...

I wonder, if it's successful will they broadcast some old episodes in order on ITV2 or something, d'you think?!

Mmm - it's about time we got some E/Dale DVDs. Maybe in a couple of years, when we get to the end of 2009, they could do what Corrie has done with each decade. The 70's, 80's, 90's and 00's...And in the mean time, they ought to make a 35 years programme with some old clips and that!

Wouldn't having @300 episodes a year make collecting them expensive or just a shelf stealer for all the DVDs for one season alone?

I don't think Rosamund Street meant every episode, just the big storyline ones

I think it would be a bit difficult for them to release all the episodes ever made on DVD...It would be an awfully big box set

Year-by-year compilations would be great and of course every Emmerdale episode still exists. It would be better than just a random compilation of episodes from different years, although they had to do this with Crossroads which started in 1964, but only a handful of 60s episodes still exist so they can't do year-by-year compilations.
