Sorry OP, I think Katie is just one of those people who looks down on everyone who she deems to be socially and intellectually inferior to her. I would imagine the guy in the Pharmacy had an few A grades in his academic resume otherwise I doubt she would have spoken to him at all, regardless of his ethnic background.

I didn't see any racism as such, I just saw her being unbelievably patronising to someone she felt was lower down than her... those C-stream people.

Sounds like a comment by my cousin once to an Asian guy that accused him of being racist. His reply was "Of course I am racist, I hate every B'stwrd" So he may be racist, but at least he is equal to all races.

Oh heaven help, we are not going to get another load of nut jobs in india burning Katie effigies this time ffs?

Katie is offensive. To just about everyone. Let's just hope she is pulled down a peg or six (and fired) in the next episode.”

Why would the Indian public be concerned about the way in which Katie treated a British pharmacist? If you are drawing a parallel to the CBB row, I would point out that Shilpa is an Indian actress.

I suppose it depends what part of Asia Tre's family is originally from

As for Simon, he was just playing along with Tre, I don't think anything was meant.”

Tre is ignorant full stop. Have we forgotten last weeks enlightening synopsis of the French people. He is another little jumped up moron with a superiority complex!

I thought Simon's head wobbling "indian impersonation" was a disgrace.

Did you hear the comment from the panelists on YF? They aptly described the scene as something out of it ain't half hot mum. Simon is a gormless moron anyway. If you put the pair of them together, what do you expect! I think it was really patronising of Tre to assume that if he put an Indian accent on, that was the only way the cash an carry lady could communicate with him!

Yeah, it was really awful. Totally racist and ignorant. You could see that Tre and Naomi were both a bit uncomfortable at the way he was behaving.

When he was on the phone, he was playing the accent up to get the girl he was talking to onside. Simon started taking the mick out of him after the call for doing it, when yes Tre then did it again in a comical fashion, but them stated that it just makes good business sense to invoke empathy where you can (paraphrasing here, can't remember the exact words)

As for Katie, that's just ridiculous she has patronised everyone she has come in contact with. She doesn't think she is better than the shopkeeper, she thinks she is better than everyone. She's not racist, she a b****

I thought the Simon head shaking thing was hilarious. Most Indians I know (myself included) do it, and its funny.

And he got it right too... d'you know how hard it is to get the wobble just right?

Exactly!!

I am half Indian- and I wasn't offended by it. I thought it was an amusing segment, and the head wobbling, as MichBOT pointed it, is what a lot of Indians do!

So please, stop saying it was racist. It wasn't. And I should know.

Perhaps you need to consult with the OP who described the shopworker as an Indian. I have never met him so I could not tell you whether he was born in southall, mumbi or wherever.

The point of the post was the assumption that there was (apparantly) racism towards an 'indian'

Isn't Tre Arab.....in the episode with the photos, naked ones, Sir Alans right hand man said that.

If he is...then it is culturally offensive, before anyone says anything Arabs and South Asians are not the same, even if some share a faith

Oh, don't start!

Katie is just plain rude... and has a false sense of superiority.

Doesn't mean she's racist.

If you look at the unseen clips on the BBC Apprentice site there is one where she upsets an eldery man who was selling the rabbits. Kristina has to step in and rescue the situation.

Then the man gets his own back (by accident) by saying he was expecting YOUNG girls. Their faces were a picture and even Margaret laughed.

That was such a funny clip! The man got so flustered and confused after what he said.

She patronises everyone, even Siralan. I don't think she's fussy about race. ......Class on the other hand....

Oh No! Can we not go down this route please?

Katie is patronising full stop. She patronises everyone, including SAS. She is not a nice person, I greatly dislike her but you can't start calling racism just because one day she patronised an asian person.
