BTW ...why should you know what is racist and what is??

No-one moans? Have you heard of the black stand-up comic, Reginald D hunter? Do you know anything about the contoversy some of his routines have caused? And where were you when the Borat movie was on? Many jewish comentators were offended.

“In this instance, Tre is from an Asian background, and his own parents may well speak like that. There was no offence intended.”

Like when he called French people frogs last week? Just because he can't see how offensive he is being, doesn't mean no offence will be taken. Roy Chubby Brown has a huge following, but there's a reason why he'll never get on television. Besides, I'm not sure that tre is Asian. I thought he was middle-eastern. His full first name is definitely Mohammed. This is why I said culturally offensive.

“As for Simon, he was just playing along with Tre, I don't think anything was meant.”

You really are making my head wobble here Simon's impersonation was the mark of a complete and utter a***. It was as bad as anything Katie has said. And just as totally unecessary.

Now I like to bash Katie as much as the next jockey but fairs, fair. It was Kristina who upset the man. Katie stepped in to rescue the situation with her jokes about "young girls". Kristina seems hugely competent, but that abrasive edge may be her undoing.

I must admit the same thought did cross my mind briefly.

However since she seems to get on well with Ghazal I dont think its to do with race...just more trademark f*ckwittery.

But then Ghazal appears quite posh, as opposed to someone like Adam (who I really liked at the end)... and Katie has realised that she's going to need allies, so is trying to keep on her good side.

Though watching Ghazal's face when Katie was recounting the boardroom battle, I doubt she likes Katie very much.

Well thats just it!

With so many shifting alliances and self-preservation going on its hard to really know who's genuine or not!

Absolutely agree. Katie is a snob, not a racist. Though personally, I find snobbery just as repellent, and Katie is one of the worst cases of it I've seen.

Katie is just a prat but I wouldn't call her racist, just snobbish and silly.

I think we've seen that Katie is prejudiced all round to people who aren't like her.

In regards to this specific situation though, I think he just agreed to the extra discount just to get rid of them, you could see how uncomfortable he was in front of the camera(s). I do think she was/is patronising but in the form we saw it, it was more over-familiarity which she shows with people she's trying to butter up i.e. she did the same in the Art and selling in France tasks.

I don't think she was patronising due to race - she apparantly has a daughter called India and one called poppy(?) or perhaps I read that wrong but of course for people who are racist, there are those who like a place but not the people and look down on them.

In regards to the Simon thing, I don't think he had any malicious intention and even though it was inappropriate he was going along with Tre - who imo should have known better. I thought it was more rude of Tre to do that and I didn't like the way the man with the trousers and the lady with the Nigella seeds showed preference to him because he was Asian. The man with the trousers literally said he'd give the discount because of Tre and Naomi was unable to get as Tre did with the Nigella seeds.

I was responding to your comments about Indians burning effigys, so why would i need to comment on the OP? If you can't answer a question don't bother, rather than trying to divert the attention elsewhere.

This thread sums up a recent trend to try and find racism at all opportunities.
