I kept thinking 'Hang on, £80 fine plus guide price of goods for not getting goods, £50 fine for turning up late'

Then Sir Alan picked up on that fact noting the team could have been £30 better up

That's all very well, but in the heat of the moment and the panic of trying to find those Nigella seeds, it's too easy to overlook the fining rules. Besides it would be assumed that the other team found and bought everything, so you would still lose simply by missing out an item.

There's no excuse for not paying attention to the rules in my view. Especially as they had plenty of time in the cars being driven about.

The other team were only fined for getting seconds. If SAS said this was unexceptable surely it should have counted as not getting the goods and if the cost price was added to the fine they would have lost? Just a thought.

Also there must have been an internet café somewhere near. A few minutes looking it up would have told them what they were. Does their fancy mobiles have internet access or am I just taking this to seriously?

It was implied that they only thing they could use was a phone and the Yellow Pages, so I think using the internet would have breached the rules.

Thanks for that, someone just mentioned that in another thread. At least they read some of the rules.

Sir Alan didn't read your mind but read the rules, which were stated on the show at the beginning of the task.
