As a business-woman, she's very competant. Good negotiation and leadership skills...

As a villainous, she's great. The best the show has ever seen. Very charismatic, and she comes out with the most hateful yet imaginative insults with the most deadpan expression on her face. She's doesn't come across as such a nice person, but who cares when she's providing us with such great entertainment.

carljohnson, I agree, Kristina wasn't in the boardroom because Adam didn't take her there. My point was simply that the reasons you gave as to why she should be there can't have been Adam's reasons because they applied equally to Kristina.

I don't condemn Katie for her looks or her class. I judge her against what she's there to do. I agree that her comment on Adam's roots were ill-judged and will probably cost her, but I like that she actually says what she thinks.

There's no one who doesn't have times when they think another is an idiot or out of their depth. (Adam was delusional in thinking anyone feared him as a main contender.) There's no one who doesn't on occasion want to smirk at having achieved an ambition. Katie doesn't disguise those feelings. Since I despise hypocrisy, it's a quality I value.

That's supposition. I think the whole team made the same mistake. If anyone had figured it out they'd have said. Katie already had 4 losses on her record and wouldn't want a 5th, and she knew she was likely to end up in the boardroom and you can never be sure which way Sir Alan will jump. Adam had survived 3 times and might have survived a 4th for all she knew.


She made a pact with Kristina to bury the hatchet and perform to the best of their ability on the task. Nothing wrong with that.


In what way did Kristina play her?

There's not much to choose from. She is nasty but in most cases gets it right - Adam's intelligence was in inverse ratio to his arrogance - SAS calls dullards dullards too. She lacks any PC sense - actually telling northerners that they are thick isn't that sensible - unless you know a girl can't win this year and want just to get noticed on TV.

She obviously can negotiate and can run a team - which is more than most of them. The question mark is how many of the wrong calls she can avoid and how many she can get right which we need to see more of her doing as a TL.

The competition isn't great though. Tre is in the tradition of Syed and probably less capable. Lohit is invisible. Jadine looked deranged and has now become invisible. Ghazal is actually quite bright compared to the rest but is too young and inexperienced. Simon might have been competent but certainly didn't show it tonight. Naomi is a safe option but hasn't impressed that much.

That just about leaves Kristina who actually seems to think the same as Katie but doesn't say it or chuck out non-PC statements. Its not at all clear yet whether Kristina is smarter than katie though. it is clear that the rest are not smarter or better team leaders. .

How desperately pathetic all you men sound, saying that Katie is 'witty' and funny - and a good businesswoman, whaaatt??!! I actually think that you are all secret subbies on the quiet, looking for a pitiless domme to punish you and crush your tender parts with her stilettoes!! If you had competent intelligent forceful people with leadership potential to choose from you would have the luxury of dumping someone who was bitchy. As it is the choice is between the staggeringly bad, the mediocre, Katie and Kristina.

My bet is one of the mediocre people will get the job after looking passable in the last few weeks. Katie and Kristina will both frighten him like Ruth did.

I agree with you, actually. Kristina is the only person left with any killer instinct, and that will put Sir A off because he's still really a dinosaur with women (look where it got him last year, picking the pretty blonde over the plain-but-competent one). He wants someone malleable who he can push around a bit - someone like Tim in other words - so it's bound to be one of the quiet ones. After this week, my bet's on Naomi (a hard worker behind the scenes, by all accounts). And she's a pretty blonde - he's got it all there, lol!!

I kind of agree with you - I don't like her, but the rivalry between her and Kristina is making the show interesting. I liked the fact that they worked together so well despite the fact that they dislike each other. I think Kristina is equally tough and ruthless, but is not so two faced.

Last week I couldn't stand to watch her, this week she's been good entertainment and much as I liked Adam, he didn't do himself any favours this week.

I agree that this lot of apprentices are pretty poor and its hard to imagine any one of them as the Apprentice.

However Katie, who does seem quite efficient and capable and astute in many ways has a real nasty streak. If she thinks the things she says on camera behind peoples backs are amusing, she is sadly lacking people skills. You do not degrade someone simply because they're from the North or have a 'inferior' job to you. She may think they are slow, inarticulate, out of their depth etc. but putting it down to where they come from and effectively branding all northerners as stupid is narrow minded, snobbish and unbelievably condecending.

In her working life she will have to work with people from all over the country and if she treats them with the same patronising attitude she will be very unpopular. The way she spoke to Adam in the board room was incredible. I can only think SAS is keeping her on because of the TV value because although when you're in the board room its no holds barred and you go in for the kill, her whole argument was on personality and not business skills.

She started the type casting of Adam as negative, boring etc. in the task where he was the gooseberry when she and Paul were trying to have a cosy flirty day together. The dour, dull, depressing guy she kept describing was nothing like the man we saw on You've been Fired tonight. He was relaxed, able to laugh at himself and the most important point, even though he knew she was unpopular with the audience, he didn't try and score cheap points against her.

I could never work with her as although she may get results, I couldn't trust her and would never be sure she was loyal or slagging me off behind my back.

I did say i found [i]some[i] of her comments witty, not all. I actually found the northern comment rather shocking.

Yes but you don't have that choice. Tre, Kristina and Jadine will also be also be slagging you off. Kristina will get the job done but we havn't see if she is better than Katie yet - neither has had many fashes of brilliance, both can lead a team, both can negotiate. Tre will probably be keeping your lawyers busy. jadine will be upsetting everyone and has shown great ability to foul anything up. Lohit and Naomi might be some use but wouldn't do anything that most decent graduates could do. Ghazal will freeze. Adam was actually pretty stupid but thought he was a high flyer - the most deadly combination out there.

You are right about what she says , but she is clearly saying it for effect. No one that smart thinks all northerners are thick. The question is why she says it and the only answer I can see is that she thinks there is a market for that character post apprentice.

I wouldn't worry too much about loyalty. Few bosses have loyal workers - it doesn't matter as long as the boss actually isn't as hopeless as the staff think he is.

I like Katie as well she seems to be pretty good at the tasks. No one seems to have pointed out just how sexy she is. Yum Yum.
