This year has been amazing for Hollyoaks.

Claire/ Max storyline
The fire at The Dog
Justin/ Becca

And of course, John-Paul. He HAS to win an award. He simply has to!

Does anyone else think this will be a good year for Hollyoaks at the Soap Awards?

It should be, but I don't know how far the appreciation of Hollyoaks goes outside of the DS walls.

My one wish would be James Sutton (JP) getting something.

I definitely think that Becca is a strong contender for best exit.

I doubt it. as a general rule Hollyoaks has strongest storylines but always loses out to weakest ones in EE, Corrie and 'dale. Although IMO Becca's exit, Grace dying as I think that is eligible for this year cannot remember date and JP/Craig deserve awards but won't! Bloody chavvy British public preferring a stupid soap - EE!

If anyone deserves a British Soap Award it's got to be James Sutton, but think as usual Hollyoaks will lose out to the bigger soaps, even though it's the soap that's had the biggest turn around in terms of quality, it's only getting better (minus the credits!).

If there were a "best family" award, the McQueen's would HAVE to win it! Although the Mitchells would.

I'd like to see JP coming out being up for best storyline, but the JP/Craig story as a whole hasn't really come into force until now, which is probably too late for this year's awards.

I don't really ever see HO coming out on top of EE, Corrie or Emmerdale. I agree that it is a brilliant programme with good storylines, but the other soaps have much wider audiences - so therefore more potential voters (well, except for the person who confessed to voting for HO's 700 times I doubt that will make any difference!!)
I do think they need more recognition - especially with some of the storylines that have been on the go this year, i.e. Baby Grace, Becca/Justin/Jake, Claire/Max and The fire a the Dog, to name but a few. HO's as been great viewing recently, they deserve to win something!!

It should do, shouldn't it. If we lived in a perfect world, Hollyoaks would sweep the board.

But it won't. It may get one or two of the panel-voted awards, but not the ones that matter.

I personally think that they should walk with Most Spectacular Scene for the fire but who knows at this point.

Well only six awards are voted by the public, meaning hopefully they will get their fair share of awards chosen by the soap panel experts! The public may vote hollyoaks for sexiest male/female.............

I never rated Ali Bastian's acting, but I liked Becca and the storyline was executed brilliantly I thought.

I reckon we'll see an increase in the awards they pick up this year - however, I'd be surprised if they won any of the public voted awards that don't have 'Sexiest' at the beginning.
