Ex-writer Criticises Eastenders
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/a4...astenders.html
I have to agree that 4 nights a week ruined the show abit. It is very good at the moment but i think only 3 nights a week would make it that extra bit better. It means we won't have little filler episodes and everything can be much more exciting.

I really hope they don't make it 5 times a week, it really would spoil it.
I think if he had said this a month or so ago then I would completely agree, however, I do think that EE is beginning to creep back up in terms of quality and out of the "doldrums". Just hope that the "great team" keep the soap on the right track.

4 days is enough, the overcrowding has affected other soaps as it is, Emmerdale is a good example these days there is far too much filler and although seeing what the normal people do is good it isn't always very character enhancing.

I think he needs to concentrate on his own show HolbyBlue and let EastEnders get on with it themselves.

I think he is trying to pass the buck myself as he is behind most of the storylines we're seeing now.
I think he has lost his touch, Pauline's death and this Max/Stacey affair are both dire and he ruined Grant Mitchell. His recent episodes have been cliched to high heaven and I no longer count him as my favourite EE writer although he undeniably wrote some big successes in the past. He makes a good point about the number of episodes however, EastEnders should not go five nights. |

I hope it doesn't go five nights a week. That would ruin the show however I think Eastenders is good right now. I certainly look forward to each episode. Only thing I hate is the affair between Max & Stacey. I think thats awful.

People have been calling for him to leave for years.
He has been far too busy over the past few years with other projects to really give the EE storylines the attention they need. |

I happen to think he's wrong about EastEnders. Its certainly not in the doldrums, in fact it feels like its stronger than it has been for a while. At least since 2005, and for consistency, the consistently good period up to 2001/2002. He is right that five nights a week would be a mistake. There are too many episodes of EastEnders as it is - I think they should get rid of the Friday episode.
