Since it's doubtful this thread could go any further downhill if it tried, I'm padlocking it here.
I would like to make one or two points. By all means, report a post if you (and I mean this in a general context) feel it's inappropriate for DS. It's then up to us to judge whether it does fall outside our rules. But launching a confrontation on the boards in the meantime is so unhelpful; we then have to sit back and watch the thread go off-topic, letting everybody have their say - for if I/we were to intervene mid-argument, I/we'd undoubtedly be accused by all sides of being unfair. I would also like to remind certain members of the need to take some posts /in/ context, and not to immediately jump to conclusions, dragging a thread off-topic with various accusations, demanding apologies and this that and the proverbial other!
