I was in Makro today and I heard a brilliant interview on their station about the quality of their cheese and that cheddar actually is popular in France!! Apparently they will be inviting Sir Alan into the store to try the products and they're offering to stock up the Apprentice cupboards on the show next year.

The funny thing is their cheese buyer sounds like Adam!!

So maybe Paul was right....it was a presentation issue!

There is nothing actually wrong with the cheese from Makro, which in essence is a wholesaler. Catering for the mass market industries like catering, hotels and corner shops it does the job intended. I agree it was definitely a presentation issue with the task, having the whole 3kg block on display was kind of silly. Personally I would have pre-cut it and cling filmed it with the prices in on a small card.
