He's got a point. The stuff about Shilpa was magnified because of the live feed (hence people saw/heard more)and because of the alleged 'racisim'. I always thought (though I am not unbiased in this view) that Dirk was treated as badly as Shilpa in BB but didn't get the same reaction because he is a white male.

Adam must have been kind of shocked to see some of the things people said about it. He probably wasn't as aware at the time of the extent of the hostility directed towards him.

eta: I'm not saying Adam was necessarily treated worse, but that there were parralls. It seems to me the headline rather bigs up the content of the story, as he is only pointing out as well as putting up with the disdain of his fellow candidates he had to work his backside off all hours of the day.

Shilpa Shetty wasn't bullied.
They didn't like her arrogance and delusionally over-inflated ego and it showed, but she wasn't bullied.

Adam wasn't arrogant or up himself.

This probably shows his naivety....

In the real world of business you don't see that sort of behaviour where people are looked down on because of where they come from. But it definitely happened in the house

He sees bullying in comments made behind his back. He wasn't even aware of it at the time. I don't think anyone tried to intimidate him. In my view, this isn't bullying. If you read comments from the other candidates, a lot of them liked him and got on with him.

One of the things some of them thought about Adam was that he was arrogant.

Indeed. It hadn't happened to him because he hadn't worked away from his own area, presumably, but it does happen a lot in business.

In the workplace people are too busy bullying anyone older and/or female who has ideas above her station to be bothered with bullying ethnic minorities

I don't think Adam was bullied - he was stitched up which is not quite the same thing ...

Nah, that's it now. I did support him but now I've gone right off him if that's how he thinks.

There was stuff going on in CBB that wasn't shown in the media. They focused on one incident involving stock cubes and used the racism angle to sell copy...but there was about a week leading up to that row. One night previously on the live feed showed the extended cruelty by Jade towards Shilpa that was much worse than Adam had to endure. It was psychological bullying of the worst kind that I've rarely seen on that show before.

I was a supporter of him but now I think he's full of sh*t. I think he is playing up to the genuine goodwill that was offered to him.
If he really said what is quoted in that article then I believe that it's all gone to his head and he's become self indulgent playing up to the sympathy he knows that he does have right now.

Well, they do that too, but what has what I said about Adam got to do with ethnic minorities?

I totally agree. I was in tears that night watching Jade spew out her bile at Shilpa. Unlike Cleo, I'm sure someone would have stepped in before it got to even half the level that Jade took that tirade. Admittedly, I haven't seen what went on in the Apprentice house, but, I doubt he wasn't subjected to the type of venom Shilpa endured.

Just to clarify, he doesn't say at any stage that he was bullied worse than Shilpa AT ALL. His only reference to that is that:

Quote:
“ All she had to do was sit around in a house. On top of everything else, I was trying to get a job.”

The point he was making was that as well as having to live with a group of people, many of whom had issues with him, he was also working very long days and was exhuasted from the tasks etc.

Absolutely. Adam fits the description - nice but dim in relation to the 'real' business world. He would be eaten alive which is actually what the others were doing to him. Not nice to watch but just a mirror of what happens in the big bad world. He was just out of this depth in knowing how to handle them & they knew it.

If you want to discuss Shilpa, why not take your arrogant and delusional comments over to the CBB forum.

It's an interesting point, although in some ways it may have helped because he was able to get out of the house and meet with other people. He even mentions having a couple of phone-calls home, which Shilpa wasn't allowed. In two episodes he was project manager, which gave him some authority over the ones allegedly bullying him. He had chances to impress them with his business skills.

Such as they are. He comes across in the article as a sore loser who still doesn't really understand how weak a candidate he was.

i loved Adam.

I think that people looked down on him because he kept himself to himself in the house.

so what if he was a bit 'slow' he worked damn hard in that house, and in all the tasks. he wanted to learn but the others were too caught up in backstabbing him!!!

its a shame he's gone, i bet he's gutted. but, i think he's better off out of it.

I was discussing Adam. Adam compared himself to her. I have no wish to discuss Ms Shetty here or anywhere else.

Ironic given that he was backstabbing them. He brought Katie into the boardroom for no reason other than personal vendetta. The previous week he had brought up her relationship with Paul, when she wasn't there to defend it, and then conspired with Kristina to keep what they had done a secret.

Incorrect, since there is a huge amount of evidence to prove that she was bullied Only those who don't like Shilpa seem to deny it

yeh he was..... maybe a sign of desperation? i dont know, but Katie had a personal vendetta against him - in my opinion - i think that was made clear in the last task when neither Katie nor Kristina would offer any form of support to Adam and Ghizel when they were looking for those seed things - and the fact that Kristina AND Katie both said in the evening before the boardroom that they would both like to get him sacked.. so why not take Katie in there when she was the most argumentative person ever - who thought that everyone was below her because they were not 'posh'

personally, i thought he was a great character. just cuz he was not on the same 'level' as everyone else he was attacked in the house by the others.

but hey, thats just what i think
