Music in The Apprentice
Is any of the background music in The Apprentice taken from tracks or is it just incidental music? During the episode on 9th May, I liked the bit used at one of the times when Adam and the other woman were out and about. It had accordions and other instruments in it. Does anyone know what it is. Sorry to be vague but I didn't record the episode and wouldn't know how to upload it anyway!

Thanks for the answers but it was "in-programme" music around the time Adam and the other lady went into a shop and tried to negotiate a price for the car part

I think they used music from the 'Amelie' soundtrack in the French episode which has accordions etc
also Gotan Project have their music used in loads of adverts and incidental music so it could from them. (it contains accordions too) I hope that helps

Thanks for that, tried on ITunes but to no avail. I notice the repeat is on BBC2 tomorrow but guess it won't give credits for the music. Wish I knew how to connect from my PVR to my laptop so I can let you listen to what I am on about!!!

it must be in the first half of the show then.I really liked some of the incidental music a few weeks ago (which I've heard used on other things too) according to another music thread on here it's form the film Solaris but still not sure if it's the same music I've been trying to get hold of. |

Hopefully the soundtrack from the BBC being released in June will cater for us all!

I love the incidental music, especially the tension-building theme with marimbas etc. used in the boardroom sequences. (I guess that must be the Dru Masters track that's been mentioned?) I was trying to think what this music reminded me of, and I think it might be the "deserted-London" sequence music in the film 28 Days Later. Similar atmopshere of slowly-building drama. Love it!

I think the Adam piece you heard may have been taken from the soundtrack to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind by Jon Brion. I don't know for sure but they have definietly used pieces from that soundtrack in the series.
They also use bits of Craig Armstrong's 'The Space between Us' album for some of the outside aerial footage and when they are building up the suspense moments. |

They also use music composed by Jon Brion for the film I Heart Huckabees, with a lot of bells

Have seen them live twice, they are absolutely superb, a mixture of French and Argentinian influences (Gotan ... an anagram of Tango). You just missed a rare appearance by them in the UK. |

Ooh you can get 30 second previews of all the stuff on the Apprentice Album on Dru Masters' Myspace page here
Some of it doesn't sound quite right without the "TWELVE CANDIDATES!!! ONE JOB!!!" voiceover!!! |

A couple of tracks used on The Apprentice are from the 24 soundtrack.
