Michael Ball and John Barrowman can only sing LCE if Keith sang it, it woudnt have the meaning its meant to have.

Lee anything from Phanto to Miss Saigon
Daniel his solo from Rent
As for the others don't mind

I disagree, I think Keith could rise to the challenge of LCE, it's a beautiful song, and he could do it justice.

I do agree on your choice for Daniel, I'd like to hear that!

actually I think oh what a circus might be a good choice for daniel it being arogant but he aint doing a show tune

Lee another ballad really i think he needs to show a bit more of a rough side.

Lee - One Song Glory from Rent
Craig - Goodbye my lover or something equally as upsetting
Ben - anything that won't allow them to compare him with Robbie Williams or Ronan Keating
Daniel - I'd do anything for love (but I won't do that)
Can't think of anything for the rest of them at the mo... will have a think over it.

Oh Lewis could do In these arms by Bon Jovi i.e. not some cheesey song like he's been given recently

I think his voice is too "nice" for it! I think he'd do well at the "I'll Cover You" reprise from the same show though.

Lee - I want him to sing Why God Why. That's my favourite showtune for a male voice ever.

Keith - Love Changes Everything is a decent shout, I think. Or maybe Johanna, from Sweeny Todd.

Daniel - an angry showtune. Maybe Heaven On Their Minds. Or Prayer from The Scarlet Pimpernel.

Lewis - The Street Where You Live

Ben - The Role of A Lifetime (which is from a very obscure musical called "Bare". But it's great!)

Craig - hmmm..... I think I'd actually give One Song Glory to him. Or Your Eyes.

I gave all of that way too much thought

Great choices. I have been racking my brains to think of something to suggest for Lewis particularly and The Street Where You Live would be fab for him.

Don't know Ben's but I'm not too worried what he sings TBH.

That's weird cause I've also wanted to hear him sing that song. I guess because he reminds me of Freddie.

I dunno I think i'd like to see Daniel sing Pretty Women from Sweeney Todd. It seems like a pleasant song on the surface but has a lot of disturbing undertones (it is sweeney todd after all!) I want to see if he can pull off that kind of subtlety in his acting. It is a duet though, but one that can be sung on its own.

i'll think of more later.

I would like to see Lee do the song from Miss Saigon that he did for his audition - I thought that was amazing

Me too! Looks like a thought that has occurred to many of us. Great minds think alike, and all of that?

I would love to see 6 great male solo songs from the big shows be put into a hat and each of the boys having to pick one out at the start of the week - then see what they do with it. on saturday.

That would lay aside any accusation of rigging as to who sings what and how suitable it is for them. It would also give the boys more of an even "platform" to then see how they proform. May be silly - just an idea.

Not silly at all. I think that would be agreat idea and a much more level playing field. We know Keith can sing now let's see if he can act and we know Ben can act but let's see if he can sing

I'm not one of those who is particularly wanting to hear show tunes. I'm a fan of them singing pop songs - just as long as they are good pop songs.

I don't have any specific songs in mind, but I'd like to see Lee do something up-tempo and happy. Basically, not an angsty love ballad where he stares moodily at the camera. (I mean, he does them very well, but he needs to show he can do something different now).

And I'd like to see Daniel do an angsty love ballad where he stares moodily at the camera

As far as the pop/showtunes issue goes, I wouldn't mind a 50/50 split as Joseph is a very poppy musical. At the moment, though, it's mostly pop so I would like more showtunes. (If Grease Is The Word could do it...) What I don't understand is the point of giving them rock songs, songs that require a falsetto, or any other type of song that is not required to play the part of Joseph.

At this stage I think it should be strong show tunes and not pop or rock standards, to bring out the best and demonstrate what they boy's are aiming for.

that's a great idea - I really want to see them do something like that as well - so they all have the same advantages - maybe it would make it too obvious who the best ones were though - or maybe they would surprise us.

Agree with you about Lee and Daniel - they need to swap genres of song ... but then I think they can both pull anything off with ease.

We need to hear them singing Joseph songs soon - to really learn whose got it to be the leading man. I still think it's between two of them.

I along with many others would like to see Daniel and Lee swap genres, I wold like to see Daniel give an angsty performance, which required subtle acting skills, not over the top acting, though I am not sure which song. Lee I would love see perform a musical anthem such as One Song Glory, where he can show that he can sing as well as the others not just act.
I really want them to give Keith a song where he has to act and move across the stage, I am sure others could come up with some suggestions. I am now scared that the British Public is going to believe Keith is right for the part as he is not one of the professionals and is the best singer out of the rest of them, when he has no acting skills and cetainly is not fit enough as shown from the three Josephs task. Don't get me wrong I feel in a few years time Keith could be a very big star but he is just not ready at the moment.

Yeah I do worry that the Keith bandwagon is gaining momentum ... and for the same reasons you give I think he's not right at the moment.

I think Daniel gave a really subtle performance in the first week ... so we need to see him return to form like that - but perhaps a power ballad ... One Song Glory is an amazing song - would actually like either Lee or Daniel to sing that (although as Daniel's been in Rent I'm not sure they would give it to him!) as I don't think any of the others could do it justice.

For some reason I really want the boys do Beach Boys as their group songs. Preferably God Only Knows. I think it would be a good way to stretch the boys vocally (both in terms of harmonies, and also because their songs tends to be deceptively hard to sing IMO)

I also think they should have the boys sing some Disney songs. I remember when Craig was singing last Sat, that the beginning of "This is the Moment" reminded me (for some reason) of the beginning of "Belle" from Beauty and the Beast. And considering that some of the Disney films have been adapted to musicals, I think many of the songs would be closer to showtunes than pop songs.
