Well theres a suprise isn't it! Maybe this can be a kick in the backside for the producer to get a decent storyline in!

I knew Corrie would win it by a mile.
Probably (and hopefully) should see the same thing happenin at the British Soap Awards.

Yes and that award was for 2002. Corrie has been even better this year and EastEnders has got worse! EE needs to pull it socks up quick to catch up!

Oh, how did I know that the 'WAEEB (whingers about EE brigade) would post messages after the BATA awards?

I should imagine you'll be changing your group's name to WACSB (whingers about coronation street brigade) next year when Corrie's storylines descend (as they are doing at the moment!) and then you've got something new to complain about

Admittedly, EE's storylines havent been that great of late, but Corrie's storylines havent been consistently great and as they said themselves they've only just learnt AFTER 40 YEARS..I HASTEN TO ADD that good storylines need to be dripped in bit by bit and not last for 6-7 weeks...

Something EE has been doing for a long time! And no doubt something that Coronation Street picked up on!

Why are you so against a new family? It's something for us all to have a good moan about especially when they don't match up to real life

Simalo

A lot of us who take the time to post on these forums enjoy and care about the programmes we watch. That includes you. I do not think there is any harm in expressing our views about which of the soaps is better. Not many would deny that EEs had better storylines than Corrie for a long time and was a lot better in the last couple of years. Now Corrie has improved but not only that - EEs is going through a very bad patch. I hope Corrie continues to do well and EEs improves soon!

That was very well put, jlighthi.

May i add that none of us ever means to cause offence to others on this board.

I appreciate that jlighti and agree with what you have said but its a shame some others dont share your sentiments

I'm a fan of both soaps and am willing to stick with both soaps through good and bad storylines because I know that it would be impossible and improbable for soaps to be amazing at all times - as I am sure you would agree

People have extremely high expectations from something which is in essence a form of escapism

I am a fan of both soaps but have always enjoyed Corrie more cos of the humour. I like the fact that people have a laugh in the Rovers - jokes are made etc - it is more realistic in that way! That's why I like it more. However nothing can beat EEs for drama when at its best. Only last Halloween we saw Kacey Ainsworth and Alex Fearns acting their socks off - tremendous stuff!

I do find it hard to watch both with five Corries and four EEs a week cos I watch so much other TV. When EE improves I will be back watching like I used to! Hopefully it will happen soon!

Aah, someone else agrees that EE has seen better days! Gotta go now before an ambulance needs to be called! (See my last post!)

Talking of this, didn't anyone else find it extremely ODD how Emmerdale wasn't even nominated even though it WON it a couple of years back? It's bizarre when you consider some of the other stuff that WAS nominated. More great decisions from the "expert panel", then
