The S is on the far right, next to the Wrap icon. Mouse over and you'll see it.

you were literally next to it, move the mouse one more button to the right there is an S next to the PHP one.

I've never been able to do spoilers either.

I don't get a toolbar for some reason, so there are no buttons at all, let alone a "S" button.

You have to use the 'Post Reply' at the bottom left of the thread - if you use the quick response box you don't get the toolbar. The 'S' is really faint

For those of you who like me were going mad, saying "There aren't any blooming buttons, smilies, anything", you aren't going mad...you are seeing different things to everyone else (who a have lovely set of buttons along the top and smilies down the side where you just have grey space).

You need to change your options. Go to control panel (or User CP), then "edit options". Right down at the bottom is "Message Editor Interface". If yours is set to basic editor, that's why you don't get any buttons! Change that to standard or enhanced and hey presto!

Now I just need to work out what these new buttons do!

Thanks Quizmike, but I cannot get it to work. You were right, mine was set to basic. I changed it first to standard and then to all singing all dancing, but I still cannot see the damn greyed out S, no clue why.

Do you not see a greyed-out S next to the ptp on the line above the message? Right at the end? From the ptp icon just move your cursor slowly to the rt and you should see the "S" box activated.

You need to do "post reply" rather than "quick reply". It's on the right of the toolbar...very faded...looks like it's nearly invisible ink

alternatively, for those that can't see the S button, manually type in [SPOILER*] before your spoiler and then [/SPOILER*] after your spoiler.

I have inserted a * so that you can see what I'm talking about so just type in the identical thing as above without the *

or quote this and you'll see the spoiler tags

Nope, I can't see it because it simply isn't there. I've tried all suggestions about slowly moving the mouse across, to no avail. For some reason, I don't have it.

Well................no. I just wanted to be prepared in case I did!!!!

I tried on both post reply and advanced reply several times. I took note that it doesn't work with quick reply.

I just mentioned that because there was some confusion in terminology in the thread.

There is Post Quick Reply and Post Reply.

I don't think I had even noticed these two different things until this question of spoilers came up.

that's good... as untagged spoilers do appear to upset some people. The only other option is to contact DS or trawl through their FAQs.

Click Post Reply at the top.
Can you see the # in the bar at the top? Next to it is the Quote icon, if you mouse over to the right of that you will see the spoiler tag box.
