£20 "3" charge after leaving???
Methuselah Now

Hello,

Are their any former customers of 3 who at any time have been persued by a credit/debt-compny on behalf of 3 after you left the network and paid up your last bill.

Any idea what the bill is for.

I've been chased for about 2 years, this was after being massively ripped off on various aspects of the network those years ago, and no one's been able to explain what the amount is for, beyond you owe it.

Any help please -If I owed it I wouldn't have a problem (no debt) clearing it, but the debt company is acting like an extortion racket.

Thank in advance for ALL help/advice.

Yours kindly,

MN

Its very unusual for someone to be 'chased' for two years over a debt of £20.
Have you tried writing to three quoting the reference number in the letters sent to you?
If you have and three have not told you the nature of the debt you should take advice from Citizens advice or Consumer Direct.

Send the an SAR (subject access requset) asking them for a copy of the original agreement.

Call customer services and they will be able to tell you. If you are having any issues, speak with a manager and they'll sort it out for you.

Also, once the issue has been resolved. Ask the person who you are dealing with to raise a case to amend your credit file. As I am assuming if its went to a Debt Collection agency then it will show on your credit file.

Thanks very much guys.

The debt agency seem to be worse-ish[in attitude], this one especially, then three themselves.

At the latest, 3 customer service after multiple call-backs, and them needing special access to retireve old bills, tell me I actually owe them £137, but when I ask them what for then, they say we can't get itemised billing, that's what our records show -you'll have to pay.

It then goes around in circles until I give up.

This situation is absolutely completely different in contrast to the way moorecroft and Cable and Wireless have treated me for the mess-up that was bulldog -full executive personal service there.

Will keep trying.

kind regards,

You need to seek advice, phoning is not the way to do it. In a case like this you must put everything in writing. Go to someone like Citizen's Advice for help in setting out your view of what's happened, take with you your bills and all the letters.

Also "3" and the debt collection agency, by law must respond to your request for proof of debt i.e copies of bills etc
