32" HD LCD with freeview

A friend has asked me what 32" HD set to get, and looking at prices/reviews i plumped for the Tosh , the new model i think its 32 3co model, which is availiable for about £480
However a friend knows a man who has assured her that only a Panasonic will do, as they are "The Best", but even the cheapest is more than £100 more, surely its not worth that much more? Views?

Wouldn't swap my 32" Panny (last years model) for anything else I have seen.

Anybody who has a Panasonic will say the Panasonic is best. Anybody who has a Toshiba will say Toshiba is best. And anyone who has a Sony will say Sony is best. Nobody likes to admit that what they have bought is not as good as a different model that somebody else has bought. I think these three names are considered the three best, and I've not seen a better picture on a Panasonic or a Sony than on the 32WLT66 (not available anymore). But then, I own a Tosh, so I'm bound to say that.

In terms of independent reviews, the Toshiba was certainly winning all the awards last summer (taking picture quality, connectivity and price into account). Not sure whether that's still the case.

B@other me - I was happy to pay £599 but a couple o' months ago. Guess it's a clearout as the '70 range is now on sale (but they're loads of dosh...).

Love the box; superb picture, naff sound, but I play it through the HiFi.

Like it so much that I've just bought its baby brother for £212+

In my opinion the Toshiba 32C3030 is better than the Panasonic.

The 32C3030 is the best budget 32" LCD i've ever seen or used.

A friend of mine has recently bought a brand new Toshiba 32" IDTV; not dure of the model number, but he says its from the latest range.
However, he is very disappointed with the response times when navigating round the epg, and I have to say I agree with him. Compared to my 4 year old Sony, the Tosh is painfully slow. Press the up/down on the remote, then sit back and wait for the on screen display to respond.

Anyone else got this problem?

The EPG on the Toshiba's isn't the fastest, it's slower than Sony and Panasonic but it's no where near the worst.

To be honest I don't use the EPG on my Toshiba. I have the V+ box so use that (which is painfully slow as well )
