On BBC Breakfest Michelle Collins has said EastEnders is now too violent than she won't let her daughter watch it alone. She was talking about last weeks scenes between Tanya and Max, the talk of abortion and Max telling Tanya about when he was locked in a coffin.

Michelle must be suffering from short term memory loss because in 1996 Cindy played by Michelle paid a hitman to shoot Ian not to mentioned all the affairs she had and lying about her sons real dad!!

The 'hitman' storyline sprung to mind when I heard those comments as well! EE is just the same as it has always been.

With her involved in that hitman storyline when she was back playing Cindy, it's a bit of a silly assumption...but then again, this Stella storyline has pushed the boundaries, so she could have been talking about that certain storyline and i can understand why she wouldn't let her daughter watch that but i don't see how that's violent really, it's more psychological abuse.

She did say that maybe it was just because she was a mother now and had to think about what was suitable for her child to watch. When you become a parent you do assess things differently.

I think things that are happening in the "real world" are more to be concerned about rather that the happenings in a soap.

If anything the soap has dumped down. Remember Christmas Day when Trevor kicked the crap out of Mo then forced her to eat her dinner from the floor? not to mention the time he raped her. You wouldn't see that now.

What is so violent about a man talking about an abortion with his wife?

Maybe the BBC should put warnings before the episodes

Oh please  this is just Michelle trying to get herself in the papers. She saw that every gutter rag picked up Tony Jordans comments regarding the 5th episode and is hoping that will happen with her so she gets some free PR for her Doctor Who role on Saturday.

Oh I don't know, last year they had Owen knocking Denise's tooth out and her stabbing him in the arm with a fork.

Maybe she's still bitter that Cindy was rather unspectacularly killed off-screen?!

How on earth is eastenders violent? is Michelle Collins on drugs or something?

ok I admit, there was a bit of a violent scene last year when Owen tried to drown Libby in that pond - but that was about it

Yes, and it was still probably one of the biggest moments in her career.

When Cindy had Ian shot it's the thing most people remember Michelle for.

She has never been able to shake off the Cindy tag.

I think she's bitter because she hasn't managed to successfully reinvent herself after leaving EE.

Precisley. Over 10 years since leaving EE, and she's doing a docter who cameo and STILL being asked about EE.

I never rated Michelle Collins as a great actress anyway

the fact that she left eastenders was no great loss in my opinion

EastEnders is not a childrens' show. What exactly is the issue here?

I think you've got it right!

The BBC wouldn't put Eastenders on before the watershed if it was deamed too violent.
