The final scenes last night as the song was playing and the final montage of the different characters letting reality sink in was done so well.

Well done to all involved in last night's episode.

I agree, the scenes with the ambulance and katherine thingy singing almost had me in tears!

That was the saddest exit I have seen in a soap with the exception of people like Brian Mosley and Stan Richards who left due to their own failing health and died themselves shortly afterwards.

In a way it was refreshing to see a character pass away peacefully like that. Rather than some daft dramatic storyline.

I agree with the original post; sentimental but done well.

I completely agree. Len's death was done so well, and it was great that he died in a natural way for a change, instead of a big full on dramatic death. Katherine Jenkins singing was a really nice touch, and all the villagers finding out from each other was really well done. A fabulous episode, and it had me on the edge of tears.

I was well beyond the verge of tears, I was crying my eyes out.

It was a brilliant piece of television. From Sandy's strangled "Len?" to the end with Kathryn Jenkins (is she Louise's long lost daughter? She's the image of her) singing. Beautiful stuff.

I'd long ago given up being remotely bothered who killed Tom King and I reckon that Len's exit upstaged the whole murderer revelation

Fantastic ending to the episode last night. As soon as I heard the opening bars of "Time to say Goodbye" I was in floods simply because it is that song. A lovely send off for Len and so well linked together. I have to say, no one does goodbyes quite as well as Emmerdale

One of the saddest endings ever. For being such a prat, you have to feel for Matthew when he is looking at the photo of the family and sheds a tear. I was so close to crying my eyes out!

The show did well to cover up that Len was leaving but it's a shame the secret was ruined a few days before the episode aired. A brilliant fitting end for a much loved character.

Has Hari left for good? Good riddance.

It was a fantastic episode and it ended with a brilliant ending, and the music ended the episode so perfectly, and it fitted the mood of it so well and was so sad and it made me cry!!! I think finding the right music to go with the episode always makes the episode have the right effect on the audience always! They found the best song I say!

I even downloaded it last night because I liked it so much! Never got any classical music until then!

I felt dead sorry for Jimmy and his sobbing by the sink, and I felt dead sorry for Matthew crying and looking at that picture of all 4 sons and Tom. I didn't feel very sorry for Carl though, lol, but I did try.

Matthew's tender side was really nice to see.

Made him even sexier than he is already!

The problem is that it will be next year's Soap Awards and, by then, will have been forgotten in most people's minds (unfortunately).

Can I just say, I don't even watch Emmerdale but I stuck the tv on early before The Bill and caught the last few minutes. Very moving, with that beautiful song and the ambulance disappearing out of sight.
